I always heard that despite all the signs leading up to it, Vince was STILL shocked that Toronto cheered Hogan over the Rock.

Sometimes he just doesn't get it, which is odd.

That is what makes that match legendary though. Halfway through the match the fans were like "F this, we're not booing Hulkster."

That match also paved the way for his last face run in the red & yellow.

His last red and yellow flopped which is why they went right back to Rock to headline against Lesnar by Summerslam. Loud crowds but he wasn't making a difference on buy rates or ratings after the Rock match.

I still don't think their plan was let's try to have them boo Brock. At least I hope not.

It was let's make this not look like the glorified squash match its most likely gonna be by having heyman talk up the spirit of Goldberg but the crowd wasn't down for storytime. At all.

I don't even know why he's intent making Lesnar a heel. Goldberg comes back, he gets cheered. Brock responds, he gets cheered. What would be wrong with just having 2 ultimate badasses exchange words week after week to massive cheers so that both guys are red hot going into the match?

In this case I think that would be okay.
