Dan Gilbert did this? :mjpls: As in Cavs owner, Dan Gilbert? :mjpls::mjpls:

Well, with Kyrie and Kevin likely being traded this season and Lebron leaving in 2018, his desolated franchise should be punishment enough :ehh:

This is so blatant wow.

But perhaps that's the audience that you need to market to first from a business standpoint. Still though...

As someone that has lived in Detroit for 4 years, sadly i too feel Detroit needs more white people. Detroit shows that there are black folk that just don't know how to act when no being controlled by white folk. Severe dysfunction from the street level to the highest levels of city government. Furthermore, the state governent is racist as fukk so its a interesting dynamic to say the least. After living through the Kwame Kilpatrick situation i can never wish that type of dysfunction on anyone else.

I'm in Houston now thank God.

He's about to make a KILLING flipping those pieces of land :ohlawd:

Take notes people...this is how Billionaire business is done
Anyone who buys property has to pledge to improve it. All those burnt out crack homes with back taxes for $1 aren't allowed to stay that way. You buy it, you got 6 months to start improvements, and/or knock that shyt down and remove everything.

If you flipping multiple properties then you have a lot of change in the pocket or from investors to renovate/demolish.

So how did you get the funding?

Pretty much. Property is cheap as fukk out here and niqqas don't own shyt. New apartments get built and they're trashed within years. My old neighborhood back then was beautiful and looks like a zombie apocalypse. The west side is dangerous as fukk. Neighborhoods look like bombed war torn countries and niqqas walking around the streets like zombies.

I knew this was coming when I saw cacs walking around downtown and biking through Detroit. They're building major stores downtown and that new pistons stadium is really going to draw cacs.

I'm about to buy as many homes as possible.

If niqqas don't wanna eat then :yeshrug:

Wrong...well not wrong...just misinformed.

1. Urban sprawl is a part of the main reason Detroit was left to crumble. That and a total divestment from the city by the surrounding areas. Mass Transit, jobs programs, etc. These are all regional things that could have easily stopped Detroit's decline. Chicago has participation from all its surrounding counties, same for most big cities...Detroit NEVER had that.

2. There are MANY areas of Detroit that a perfectly fine and isn't the fukking walking dead.

3. I moved downtown because yes, gentrification is in full effect, however, wasn't shyt there because black business owners were essentially frozen out of buying the land for decades...remember Don Barden and Micheal Jackson were a part of the consortium trying to bring the casinos here and make the black owned. They were denied. Also what the popular national media DOESN'T say is that black owned businesses are surging in Detroit. I actually ate three meals out on Saturday and they all were at black owned restaurants, my girl got her nails done at a black owned salon and I'm currently drinking coffee from a black owned cafe. All downtown (cept for the cafe...cuz its by my job)

4. Insurance for virtually everything costs EXPONENTIALLY more in Detroit....explain to me why certain people are paying in excess of $500/mo on CAR insurance...oh i know why. Because the Ford, GM and others lobbied too keep mass transit off the table thus FORCING people to get cars...and when car insurance is MANDATORY in Michigan...and Detroit is the population center....you get my drift. :sas2:

What WAS done by black folks was...
1. Allowing police and fire to not have residency requirements. One of the largest, stable tax bases in the city pooof gone almost overnight.

2. Moving out to Oakland and Macomb county trying to keep up with white folks and now realizing that the infrastructure costs way more and FURTHER reducing the tax base.

3. Not supporting many of the black owned business that were there. nikkas love taking they ass out to Oakland county to spend they money.

4. Letting gentrification scare us into thinking we have no say in Detroit's future. All of the thriving neighborhoods have non-profit, business collectives that work to see the needs of a particular area and does their best to bring dollars to the area. This has happened in Midtown and Corktown and Mexicantown. However, other areas like Palmer Park, Brightmoor, Rosedale and others have either started or are making theirs.

Exactly. People are acting like Black folks are just not buying land out of apathy.

After more than three years of trying to purchase plots of land in Detroit, he's been unsuccessful. He's not alone; there are dozens of cases of people attempting to buy land without success. Herron says that the property he was interested in buying, for example, belongs to a holding company in Florida.

The frenzy of speculators, outside and foreign investors to purchase Detroit land has shut people out of buying in their own neighborhoods.

One of the most controversial land sales involved investment banker John Hantz. In 2012, Hantz and his company, Hantz Farms, were allowed to purchase 140 acres of what many consider prime real estate for far below market rate. Despite strong opposition from a coalition of urban farmers, community activists and local residents, Detroit's city council approved the contested land deal in a 5-4 vote. According to Crain's Detroit Business, Hantz acquired "slightly more than 1,500 non-contiguous city-owned lots for $520,000, or about $300 per lot."

Last year, Herron and a group of east side farmers met with mayor Mike Duggan about creating a land trust, a private agreement where the city would agree to hold the title to the property for the benefit of community. But the farmers haven't made headway in purchasing land, says Herron.

"To become a land holder in effect is out of reach for black farmers," he says.

Detroit has enough territory to comfortably fit all of Manhattan, Boston and San Francisco. The population of the city has fallen from a peak of nearly 2 million in the 1950s to around 680,000 today. It should be easy to procure land for farming in a city with so much available acreage. But it's not.
Black farmers in Detroit are growing their own food. But they're having trouble owning the land.

Bye bye black detriot. Hello to white and trendy detriot..

Here's the thing. Unlike other cities, Detroit isn't going to survive without white and trendy areas. However, unlike Chicago and NYC, Detroit has one thing we can't make more of...LAND.

And the more than black folks buy homes and keep them up Detroit can never become a totally white-washed city. In fact, MORE people (black and white) should be moving to Detroit as the land is dirt cheap. The problem is we have to have a good 15-20 years of people basically either not having kids or being cool with their kids being in sub-par schools. Because THAT is one of the largest barriers to getting people to STAY in a city. And DPS is a shyt show.
