Cabbage Patch
The Media scene in V is for Vendetta is the clue
That's all well and good. The point is Detroit is NOT those communities. It's the same thing they do when they tell us "there's nothing in Africa, we weren't civilized before slavery." If we have pride in our areas, our areas will become stronger. I see black people in the vast majority of white collar jobs in Memphis, because this is a black city. My mother is a healthcare professional, so I see black people with prominent job in the medical field often. We're the majority of city leadership. We're the majority of wealth within the city, because most white folks with money live in far out areas in Shelby or Desoto County
Despite all of that, there's still a self-defeated ass mentality here. I hate "we ain't got shyt without white folks" ass black people. Neighborhoods like Orange Mound are a testament to our ability to be self-sustaining, that was the first neighborhood in America built by and for black people. So if we were able to create our own self-sufficient neighborhoods, post slavery, why can't we have that in 2017?
Off topic, in black cities with large white collar base, how many are private sector, and how many are government white collar jobs?
