Doesnt make what he said wrong, also you are responsible for your corrupt leaders with your "much easier to bypass them" , yeah but the problem never gets solved.
Just images if my AA's ancestors try to bypass slavery then Jim crow, cause its "easier",
No one wants to die, and make the sacrifice for change, no one wants to do the hard work.
Thank God my ancestor didn't take shortcuts

Sometimes the price was death.
I hear you though, it's easier to come here and piggyback off the sh#t our ancestors who chose not too "bypass" the whites and corrupt laws because "it would be easier",
Graveyards are filled with the African counterparts of the heroes that you just listed, most dead fighting for independence from European colonizers. Some rotting in prisons as political prisoners, some died disillusioned after trying to change things.
The United States is a stable democracy, and the post-slavery era heroes you listed worked within the existing system to bring about change.(Malcolm X was trying to work within the system when died) The heroes who were working outside of the system (BPP,etc) helped those working inside by giving the system a glimpse of the alternative course of action)
The ones working outside the system....Black Panthers,etc....were treated here the way opposition leaders are treated in developing countries.........executions, trumped up criminal charges, agents infiltrating and setting them against each other. That Cointelpro action, boss. US govt actions silenced and broke up the Panthers (and discouraged future groups from taking up that mantle)....the same way that corrupt govt. leaders in developing countries have done the same thing to discourage those who would fight against them.
I mention all day everyday that EVERYBODY in America today benefits from that brave segment of AA leaders and people who fought and agitated for change. That's an undeniable fact. But the reality is that, as in most freedom movements....the actual percentage of people resisting, fighting, not accepting things the way they were was smaller than what people think. That's why they stood and stand out. The descendants of the people who didn't fight, resist,or support the ones who did......benefit from the actions of those heroes as well.
