Vol. 2 Hard Knock Life doesnt deserve the hate it gets. The album is a classic.

yeah, i stand by this album. this is the album that made "jigga that nikka" this album was huge!

people hate on it now and say this or that now, but it's a really good album. in fact, i don't think i ever skip a track on it

reasonable doubt, vol. 2, and the blueprint round out my top 3 favorite jay z albums of all time

Who the fukk hates on it though :what:

I've always laughed at these type of threads, where people appreciate something by claiming that people hate on it.
Or in most cases, claiming that something is underrated when shyt gets nothing but love.
breh I searched Hard Knock Life (thread titles) looking to bump appreciation thrads and I saw hatred. I also saw one where ppl were apparently outraged that it got 4.5 mics when it dropped. Said fukk it...lemme make the thread then

Are all street oriented songs

Can I Get A & Money ain't a thang are the only commercial songs which were on other albums before vol 2. And besides these two songs are classic.

This is not a classic album and it sounds mad dated. The only song timeless song on that album I can think of off top is Jigga What

Most people loved it when it dropped, well Jigga fans did. I didn't care for it too much then. It started the collabo-album trend, the lyrics on most of the tracks were hella basic, and was a very commercialized album. It's also the album that catapulted him into A-list status. I think over time, people have grown to realize that it was a so-so album, and that's where it now stands amongst the general hip-hop public.

Great album. Not sure if I would give it classic status, but a great album.
