KD's never won a chip, FMVP or DPOY....
Well, he'll never win DPOY but his other other gifts put him in that other category. And fmvp and chip will probably change this year. Can't ever count bron out but winning a chip twice w/o home court will be very hard.

If someone ever manufactured basketball robots, they would probably use Kawhi as the prototype design.

13/16 shooting and didn't give up a single point on defense for an entire half in a conference semifinals game?

Who does that? :gucci:

And now his playmaking ability is coming along too :gucci:

It's a wrap.

I noticed his TS% in the playoffs through 8 games is 72.6%

wtf :mjlol:

Yeah but the WAY Durant placed himself in a position to possibly win a chip and FMVP is what people will forever knock him for. Dude was 3-1 in the WCF against the Warriors only for his team to blow the series and he jumped ship to join the Warriors for an almost-guaranteed chip.

Kawhi's definitely going to be looked at more favoritely than Durant when all is said and done, in terms of winning and legacy.

KD is 1
Lebron is 2
Kawhi is 3
Curry is 4

Although in terms of impact
Lebron is 1

A few stray comments

- Westbrook is arguably top 5 but definitely not better than the 4 players ahead of him, so that gap should be acknowledged for these discussions. The better question regarding Russ isn't whether he's better than LBJ/KD/Kawhi, but whether he's really better than Wall, AD and IT2.

- Curry being the best shooter to ever live, having top tier handles and being a great facilitator have nothing to do with the system he's in. Those are his own skills and are a primary factor for why the system even works to begin with.

- It's disturbing that a player who has won back to back MVP awards (one unanimous) and has led a team to a 73-9 record is still being called fraudulent/overrated. That shows a degree of stubbornest bordering on the ridiculous. It's really unfortunate that Draymond Green's dumbass couldn't avoid getting himself suspended, or we probably wouldn't even be having this discussion.

- Curry is not 1 dimensional...at all.

- Houston and GSW have better basketball teams than SAS, so I don't think it's fair to say that Kawhi needs to carry the Spurs past to those team to certify his elite credentials.

That's what happens when the team your are playing for a championship beats you 3 times in a row by specifically trying to get you switched on to their best players...

That's what happens when your center gets hurt and your defensive integrity falls apart because now the entire defense is centered around keeping a guy who won mvp away from lebron and kyrie....and if you do that you are just going to concede wide open shots all over the floor...

When you are a two time mvp you should NOT be getting outplayed at your position in the nba finals...and i think we can all agree that kyrie outplayed steph over the course of that series...

When you a two time mvp teams should NOT be hunting you down on defense every...single...fukking...play.

To me an MVP player is a guy you try to stay away from on both ends of the floor, because you know...he is REALLY fukking good so you probably don't want to put yourself in a position to challenge him offensively or defensively because he is going to win that battle a lot.

And yet...Cleveland played the Hunger Games against Steph and in the end the odds were NOT ever in his favor...

The numbers suggest otherwise, beloved.

Two straight MVPs, one unanimous; best regular season record in league history; best three year stretch in NBA history; one title; a few unfortunate events from a second straight; on their way to the Finals again; untouchable three point record for a season; offensive impact unlike anyone in the league. Keep your head in the sand though. :manny:
A few unfortunate events? You mean blowing a 3-1 lead in the finals and kyrie hitting the game winner in his face ? :mjlol:

Still going with KD as the 2nd best player in the league but Kawhi is coming on strong. He is dominant on both ends and is STILL getting better. I can imagine him averaging 30 8 and 8 one day with a couple of steals and a block with 50/40/90 shooting splits.
