The song with g eazy is actually dope

G eazy is nothing but another rapper would you say the same about raekwon, philthy rich or many other gangsta rappers from the bay :what:

You act like g eazy is some huge pop star he's not he's just a rapper from the bay that happens to be white :stopitslime:

And wale has a market that's why he has sold many records & has many platinum & gold singles :mindblown:

His audience is whoever enjoys his fukking music & thats alot of people :comeon:

If you don't like the fact that you cant categorize his style & audience get over it is he dope or not :camby:
Wale wants to be mentioned with his peers... Kendrick, Cole, Sean, Drake etc... which one of these guys is featuring G-Eazy on a song in 2017?
:mjlol:

It's ass backwards.

And NO the song isn't dope, and it's not better than the other singles he put out over a year ago. My PYT shyts on that song... Running Back shyts on that song.

Wale actually had his own sound by infusing a little go go into the music going all the way back to Dig Dug, 100 Miles and Running, etc. He was developing his own sound and style with whole D.C. sneaker head bohemian type steez he developed. All that changed when he went to MMG. While it did open him up to bigger audiences he lost some of his early fan base becuz he never really was a good fit at MMG. He had an identity crisis

How does he have a identity crises

He does music for the appreciation from the fans & critics but i guess so many of his fans & critics like him for so many of the sounds, concepts, mixtapes & albums he has done over the years:manny:

What was wrong with the ambition, the gifted or taan or even his mixtapes florian & summer on sunset or his work on the mmg albums :what:

Im pretty sure most of his fans love all those bodies of work

I think its the fans & critics fault honestly because most of them at least the one's who remain unsatisfied & critical dont know what they want from homie

Just look at this thread just a bunch dudes criticizing or coming with different reasons to why he hasnt reach that level they thought he shouldve reached

Wale just needs to stop trying to satisfy them stupid fans & critics & just do him

He's the every rappers rapper & he's mastered so many styles & sounds

You want go'go go listen to those projects

You like his early work go listen to that

But to act like his music changed or somehow got wack after he came to mmg is so stupid & a major lie :what:

Taan & the gifted >>>>>> big sean, j cole, asap rocky, joey badass, young thug & any other top rapper from this era collective bodies of work (except of course kdot) :ld:

All these guys had big homies who were likable with their cosigns. I guarantee if Wale was Roc Nation, none of the shyt we discussing would be talked about. Lets be honest, Wale's backpack audience never fukked with Rozay from day one since he never crossed over with white ppl like that either. Plus Wale and Meek signed to Atlantic, not Epic. Atlantic always need singles to put your record out or you get shelved. Just look at the history of ppl that signed to them (Lupe, T.I. etc). Apart from that, MMG as a collective still making the best black music out.

Years back I had a homie who was friends with one of Wale's closer cousins. Apparently cousin casually told my homie that the whole Seinfeld/Mixtape About Nothing concept was a marketing team's idea, not Wale's own. Not surprising as aside from promoting an album I've never seen or heard Wale make mention of his "love" for Seinfeld.

From the outside looking in he strikes me as the type of person who wants instant gratification but unfortunately that's not how the industry works. Hence him being tight he's not spoken of in the same breath as Kendrick or Cole, the random arguing on social media, jumping from Studio 43 to Mark Ronson to MMG.

I hope Wale finds whatever fulfillment he's looking for in life...but I'm still not a fan. No hate though:hubie:

You putting words in my mouth. Im just making an observation. I actually like his MMG music better than his earlier work. I still bump Folarin regularly. But you cant mistake the fact the dude was carving out a lane for himself at one point and now he doesn't have one

Exactly, Wale needs to just do him... instead of always trying to reach for a hit to the point that he's featuring G-Eazy on a single.

He hasn't really mastered anything, he's good at many things, not a master at any though.

Wale's started making waves because of his Mixtape About Nothing, which is conceptually centered around Seinfeld's show.
