When I see people mention “good” hip hop those 3 seem to be the main topic of conversation in mainstream

Whether they actually are is a whole other debate lol
Chance is an industry plant with one radio hit:camby:

Three reasons.

1. Rick Ross had a hand in most of Wale's best songs with some of the producers.

2. He tried(and failed) to recreate the Drake Views formula of hopping on the international wave on SHINE instead of continuing on doing what made his previous albums great.

3. That his bragging of his talent and social media antics just didn't translate into good songs after Album About Nothing.

Plz show us some of these songs cuz I would say his best songs don't even use Ross producers or have him on them :lupe:

Wale was supposed to be alongside Kendrick, Cole, and Chance.

Where did he go wrong after Ambition?

After Ambition I really thought dude had found his lane. That album is soooooo fukking GOOD man. It still sounds fresh to this day.

The Gifted was dissapointing. The Album About Nothing was forgettable and the less said about a Shine the better.

The mixtape he dropped, Summer On Sunset was FIRE though. He’s still got it, that new single he dropped was great as well.

:mjlol: Wale is Nigerian not some Canadian Jew. He been did an Afro beat joint. This came out in 09 when Drake was riding the 808s and Heartbreak wave.

Yet none of his African joints popped the way Drake did with One Dance.

It was because of Drake that Afrobeats now has a door in the US. Not Wale.
