I need to add something to this thread. I know they are close friends but I honestly think Wale is jealous of Cole success. I believe he feels like his career should've went the way Coles went..

Just a observation
This exactly.
Wale is the best in his class. People don't agree cause he doesn't have a machine and it seems his personality. But none in his class is near him.
Wale has had a machine. He somehow can't pick a lane yet is too formulaic at the same time, all his album cycles are led by a female record with an R&B singer hook. It's predictable and being unable to put out bangers that resonate with us (men) prevents him from being seen as a heavyweight. He also doesn't have a strong rapping voice.
If you listen to Wale when it comes to J.Cole he insinuates colorism plays a factor in their success and truth be told he does have a point.
No he doesn't.

J cole became a woke activist rapper right around the time this shyt became money
I mean think about it he was always ill and had success but he was trying to be a Jay z or BOB frankenstein monster as a rapper but when his content changed and became more militant and retrospective kinda like kendrick he reached a whole new audience and success.

Now Wale he makes the same type of music and never evolved no disrespect he's good too but the reason he's not seeing the transition like Cole is because Cole turned the corner as an artist.
Meek has the same problem too imo
Artists just can't reinvent themselves
Snoop is the King of that hence why his career has been so long

I do think Wale's frustration is that his career is not in the stratosphere that Cole's is. These dudes were opening up for Jay Z together a little over 10 years ago.

Which reminds of this video from that tour:

Also Cole opened up for Wale at one point on Wale's tour.

The thing I don't understand is that Cole went out of his way to help Wale very recently. He chilled with Wale for awhile, they wrote together, he was giving Wale advice etc...all this happened after the False Prophets shyt.

Wale mentioned it last time he was on the Breakfast Club if I remember correctly. For him to say some wild jealous shyt like this is just...weird man. What's wrong with this dude. He's never going to be as big as he thinks he should be. At this point all you can do is accept that your moment passed and make the best music you can. There's money to be made touring. Lot of hoes shyt fukk with Wale.

wale prolly still feels some type of way about cole throwing him under the bus in that song where cole was trying to pump-fake like his come-up was organic.

i dont blame wale.

J Cole desperately tries to be pro black to make up for being half white. Its kinda funny

Light brights always trying to be the most militant. Overcompensating. He went from Hollywood Cole to this tortured artist who can't even be blthered to dress up for Obama. Dude is hilarious to me.
