I get it, and its important. But half the songs start as something and end up as
"....I know my mental issues are stopping me from..."
"....I don't want sympathy but my anxiety issues...."
"....you're beautiful but getting close to me is dangerous with my bi-polar...."
"...its a perfect day until my mental issues tell me its dark..."
Like breh, calm down and have some fun :whoa:. With that being said, the song writing and music on here are insane though

Something like this would have been good on here to break up some of the somber mood.

These "mental issues" are poisoning his energy. Dude just rapped an R&B album because up-tempo beats don't seem to sit right in his brain anymore lol.

He could start a song like :gladbron: and by the end of the second verse its like :unimpressed:

Off 1st listen, I think this is more Wale's speed. I think there are some mishaps with sequencing, as he gives us some real dope soulful records where he really shines, and then he hops onto a different sound, whether it's with the Afro beats or just more pop sounding shyt, then back to soulful samples for example.

It's not a bad album at all, all the features are pretty good, the music sounds smooth, everything could have flowed a little better IMO.

"Sue me, I'm rooting for everybody black" is the mood that Wale resonates with me the most with. Awesome intro record. Then the next song is that single which just throws the vibe off.

It's a solid project tho

Album is a bit too much RNB/Hip Hop on first listen. But for the most part those songs hit. Could’ve use at least 2 more hard hitting or soulful rap tracks. As an emcee you got to remind nikkas about your pen. Nina/semiautomatic should’ve been the closer.

Only songs I’m not feeling right now are
Bryson Tiller joint
Debby
BGM only because Black Gold>>>>>
Wale should have put Black Gold on this album, I don't care how old it is, he wasted that song as a loosie.

Nobody was mad that Lupe put Jonylah Forever on Drogas WAVE, because it's an amazing song and surely a lot of people never heard it before he put it on that album
