Just came across Expectations, it's a smooth joint. Might have to check this album out of curiosity :jbhmm:

215 Uptown!
Gave it a second listen. It’s a lot better then I thought it was. I gotta stop comparing ever wale project to TAAN. And just understand that was Wale at his peak.

When I just let this vibe and take it for what it is it’s a a lot. Shine was the same way I recently realized

Went through the 2nd Playthrough...

Sue Me
Cliche
Expectations
Love...(Her Fault)
On Chill
Love Me Nina / Semiautomatic
Break My Heart (My Fault)
50 In Da Safe
Set You Free

Good to Great records IMO

The main thing that throws this album off in general is the sequencing in general. And some songs just feel like filler and just forced

Love & Loyalty is a good song, but coming after Sue Me, it's like what's going on here? It's a lil jarring sonically, and I feel like Wale lessens the impact of his projects when they have random arrangements

BGM
Routine
Debbie
Black Bonnie
Poledancer

Mediocre or just out of place... or just old songs we've heard months ago

Solid overall release, but with some tweaks it could have been great. But is that surprising coming from Wale? He kinda always teases greatness and then throws listeners a curveball that just misses with most. It is what it is

Sue Me is one of my fav records of his in a while tho, so dope

That’s my only issue with the album is the sequencing. Hearing “On Chill” and then goes right into “Routine” was just like :patrice:

and Im guessing “Black Bonnie” and “Poledancer” were bonus tracks but he could have figured a way to mash it within the album to make it flow.

“Routine” sounds so out of place on the album. Sounds like a “Port Of Miami 2” leftover.

The music is there tho..and the album still slaps.

I been a Wale fan since "One Thing About a Player"...that said...I wasn't expectin' much from this and it still under-delivered.

Wack and boring discount beats
Some of the tracks he tried to evoke pain and it came off as emotionless
Too much tracks about love...which i'm fine with, he just isn't the person for this IMO. It was like an R&B album from a non R&B singer
Tried to hard to be commercial...did too much catering to the ladies.
Redundant subject matter
Cheesy subject matter
Cheesy deliveries
Too much singing and harmonizing.
The rhymes and flows weren't really on point either. It was more like spoken word.

Frankly I'm surprised at how much I disliked this. I played it all the way thru and couldn't get into it at all. The joint with 6lack was coo...Sue Me was too. Thats about it for me tho

When the "More about Nothing" & "Album about Nothing" Wale coming back??

I would put "The God Smile" put up against any song your favorite rapper has done..
album bout nothing one of my favorite albums in the last 5 years.

dude is terribly inconsistent though. has been since the mixtape days.
