They legit have mf’s at the door checking if what’s in your cart matches your receipt.
Yes but those people you are not obligated to stop for them. Theyre more there to act as deterrent from stealing than anything else. if someone is actually stealing they either hiding what they stole I'm some shyt in the cart or on their person or they just gonna Wall past them and not look at them. Only people who worry about the receipt checkers are the ones who don't know better.

People who work in retail know the majority of theft is performed by the EMPLOYEES not the customers.:russ:

Internal (Employee) Theft is the biggest contributor to loss for most retailers, regardless of size or industry. Although some may wonder why employee theft would be the largest category of loss, hands down, every survey, study and comparison across segments has shown repeatedly that those individuals who steal from a business the most are employees.

Beyond CAP! Target said some dumb mess like this too. They said theft was up and hurting their revenue.......BUT THEY HAD A 87% INCREASE IN PROFITS DURING COVID quarterly. They did like $2.5 Billion in a quarter and then this year did like $300 Million within the same time. Ain't nobody steal THAT much merchandise. They just managed ordering inventory wrong and got greedy.

And any dumb ass thinking this is cap is an idiot

They literally did this with a Walmart by me a few years back. Between employee theft & shoplifting. Dudes was walking past security with 50 Inch TVs, tires, cart fulls of food daily.

it was right by a highway entrance so dudes would just hop on there and be gone.

Now 84 year old Mrs. Delores with no car has to go on the other side of the city to get her prescription filled & groceries

Wawa in my city is running with the same cap
Corporations close stores for all kinds of reasons, including over expansion
Closing for theft is a major reach considering the level of theft that would be required for a location to not be profitable for that sole reason
I think the companies use that excuse for political reasons and to get concessions from local government

Posters are downplaying the the theft issue, but overlook there was a thread a couple of days ago where a store employee got killed trying to stop someone from stealing. It’s an issue whether posters are willing to admit it or not.

If a store is already struggling financially as it is, then rampant theft is enough to have it closed down due to underperformance.
