This is likely their excuse to shut down some of the low performing Walmarts across the country, particularly in the South and Midwest within the small towns and such.

A big corporation such Wal-Mart ain't gonna be shutting down nationwide over shoplifting :comeon: they've already shut down a lot of Walmarts located in those small sundown type cities/towns for reasons stated above.

Theft can continue to underperformance don’t you think?

I think there's some confusion with increased profits and increased profit margin. Across the board inflation would increase profits for everyone. Doesn't mean the company is more profitable as a percentage of revenue.

It's like saying Titanic was the biggest movie of all time...now it's Endgame. Yeah tickets are twice as much as they were in 97...

Theft is getting crazy, a number of stores near my job in downtown Chicago are closing up because of theft too. There's nothing wrong with pointing that out. Wal-Mart could be capping, but things aren't as cut and dry as "they have record profits".

Trying to cut costs as brick and mortar stores are going out of style. Eventually we will cut out the need for physically shopping altogether.
This…word has been going around for years that Walmart wants to eventually turn their brick and mortar stores into warehouses. You’ll put your orders in and robots/humans will get your items and bring them out to you.

Didn't CVS close a couple stores in the Bay Area because of this. Also the second any business loses more in theft than it makes in revenue you can guarantee it's closing. Walmart isn't a charity, so I'm not sure why this is cap unless you can post numbers of certain stores.
