Walmart could close stores because of shoplifting.

Naw shoplifting has definitely become an issue. I was just at Target and they increased security and put those little theft deterrents on all the clothes when they didn't used to do that. People are really struggling right now.
Even grocery stores have started putting the theft deterrents on the carts to stop people from shoplifting. I'm also starting to believe it's why they also aren't replacing broken carts as well.

People who work in retail know the majority of theft is performed by the EMPLOYEES not the customers.:russ:

I haven't worked retail in nearly 16 years but when I did I was stealing from work left and right. I saved so much money during the holidays lol

That was the reason the Kroger in my city closed down. Almost everytime I'd go in there, I'd see somebody stealing, as it was easy to do in there(in high school, a white dude stole some steaks from there), plus the area and plaza it was in, wasn't the most desirable:mjpls:

I've robbed, I never stole anything in my life................. Until I started not scanning the most expensive shyt in my basket :hubie:
That’s not stealing, if they require you to give them your labor you are entitled to payment and the amount is set by the free market. I do that shyt all the time, since I’m not getting a paycheck I need to be compensated in some form :birdman:

Posters are downplaying the the theft issue, but overlook there was a thread a couple of days ago where a store employee got killed trying to stop someone from stealing. It’s an issue whether posters are willing to admit it or not.

If a store is already struggling financially as it is, then rampant theft is enough to have it closed down due to underperformance.
They're grown ass idiots, with no real life experience, that think they're being edgy that's why. They don't even know that the profit margins in retail is razor thin. It's even thinner when it comes to things like food and groceries. Then they wonder why it's only to bodegas and corner stores in certain areas. Crime and theft is an extra tax on businesses.

I got a homeboy that is a GM for a couple of Dollar General’s and he closed one of his stores down because the theft loss was greater then the profit, sadly it was in the hood:francis:

So I believe that Walmart will start closing if they losing money like that
Go to the black haircare section and cosmetics section of any Walmart. That shyt look like museum displaying precious gems, artifacts, and priceless art.

Bruh he was telling me at that same store he closed, he notice he wasnt getting any greeting cards stocked in. So he called the company and they sent in a rep who told him that the cards are ordered by a sell basis. When cards are sold the computer puts in a order for more. nikkas was stealing so many greeting cards that the entire section was bare but because the computer thought cards wasnt being sold it never put in a order:snoop:

Seriously!!!! Retailers don't have a clue how much has been stolen until its time for inventory, so you can steal something every shift, and quit before inventory, and no one will suspect you. Just don't try it at one of the more upscale department stores like Saks or Nordstrom, as they assume all employees will steal, and thus have multiple levels of loss prevention.

Not gone lie Walmart getting bled at them self checkout lines . They have tons of vacant checkout lanes idk whether its due to lack of employees or them just not wanting to pay cashiers but it's way to easy to hit stangs at them self checkout lines so Im sure their loss margin has grown considerably just off that nationwide.

Also, a lot of the time the receipt checker at them doors are elderly people ( at least from what I see in here in Houston) so if an able-bodied individual decided they was gone take something it aint much them receipt checkers could do physically anyway.

They just using that excuse to close the Walmarts in those small ass towns where they are literally the only employer
This 100%.

Dollar General/Family Dollar etc., have been moving into the small towns real heavy. Throw in an Aldi's and someone that's struggling can save money on food shopping at those spots over Walmart.

If a person lives in a rural area and wants to buy a big ticket item, Amazon or online shopping to get the best price.

Walmart tied their biz model to the smaller towns but those areas keep losing population. Here in Dallas, Walmart still does heavy biz but the people that spend more money go to Target. For groceries it's HEB, Sprouts, Central Market etc.
