On the face of it this doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it is. Not just because one star athlete taking less gives the players less leverage in the next CBA negotiation, but mainly because this forces other star players to have to consider taking pay cuts if they really want to build a team to compete with this Warriors team. Sure these dudes are having fun and saying fukk it we make plenty of money, and that’s true, but they’re also handing power back to the owners and the league and giving them back a larger piece of the pie that players before them fought so hard to secure. It’s some straight up selfish clown shyt. They’re setting the players back a decade or more with this. They’re benefitting personally from these last two cap hikes but by not pressing the issue they’re fukking over the next generation of players. It’s typical Warriors soft spoiled shyt.

i dont think its that serious man.

I was just gona add in on my post and say before anyone says it’s not that serious...it really is. Jordan, Kobe Lebron and others fought to get every penny they could because they generated BILLIONS of dollars for already billionaire owners, all old white men that will pass down wealth that will last their families literally hundreds of years at the minimum and a good deal of that money is made off of the backs of young desperate black men, shyt some of them kids, who have ended up and some will still end up broke when they’re done playing. It is 100% that serious.

Billionaires get the tax payers to pay for their stadiums, and the players sell the stadiums out. They literally serve no purpose. The players salaries could be paid out by a CEO and board of directors overseeing the profits generated by team operaions. But still these billionaires makes hundreds of millions of dollars a year for doing nothing. It’s very serious.

There isn't anything emotional about what I posted... and Otto jr getting the max in 2017 vs Utah offering offer sheet matches to Hayward while under contract averaging 13 on 41 percent shooting isn't comparable... hell, Otto Jr is more talented than Hayward(and making less btw)......... the only reason why his stat line isnt more than what it is because he is sacrificing points for the continuity of the team.....
Breh porter got the max avg 11 pts a game. After that there isn't shyt you can tell me regarding folks getting stupid contracts. Let it go dog its over.

and when hes on the downside the team is gonna try to finesse him to take less like the Heat did Wade...

We need a Kobe details segment on how to take everything from these owners while you can...

They might end up trading him. No shot they’re gona give him a NTC they denied Curry they aint giving one to Klay. Imagine what kind of young cheap talent they could get back for a discounted Klay on the tail end of but still in his prime.

Its not that's just Internet nikkas way of making their hating seem more valid by making it about family and shyt. Stop it

I don’t care about the Warriors, but I get very upset when an already rigged game gets even more rigged in favor of billionaires. It’s not my fault some of you motherfukkers are too stupid and shortsighted to understand how serious it is.

And if you honestly want to argue that it’s not that serious and think I’m saying it is for basketball reasons, then you are stupid and shortsighted, no way around it. There’s a reason Chris Paul is president of the NBAPA and Lebron is vice president. Cause they can be shrewd and calculated businessmen and they’re out to secure as big a piece of the pie for future players as they can.

lol, anyone who doesn't think it is serious is not thinking. The reason why NBA players cant get dikk around like NFL players is because of the player association. Give the owners leverage they will take it with a smile in your face.

Yeah, taking a slight paycut is one thing, having to forefit $50 mil over the life of a contract is bad for all the player's business. I'm sure they'll talk to him
He has a chinese sneaker deal. Staying in the bay area and winning is better for his brand. He'll make that 50 back and then some over his career

Bron took a pay cut to join the Heat

He took a $2 million paycut for 1 season and then he opted out before the big paycut would come in. And now he signs 1 year deals to make sure he can always have max leverage and he fought to get Tristan Thompson and JR Smith their deals for NBAPA leverage, and Eric Bledsoe. He didn’t do that cause he thought they were the best options for the Cavs it was all about future CBA negotiations. He’s done more to put the power in the players’ hands than any player in professional sports history.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/nba.nb...-bosh-each-leave-15-million-on-the-table/amp/

“The amount of power this contract yields for the three is simply staggering. They hold an inordinate amount of power, as expected, and have the option to stay for six years if they want. If one of them were to, God forbid, suffer a severe injury that changes their career forever. They can be making $20 million plus at age 34 (Wade) or 31 (James, Bosh). But if they’re dominating the league but want a change of scenery, if jealousy rears its ugly and predictable head, they can be out there on the front line of free agency again.”

Every move players like Lebron, Wade, CP3, Bosh etc., actually intelligent players who come from nothing, made in the prime of their careers has been calculated to give themselves and future players more power and more money. And then moves like this from Klay and the Warriors in general spits in the face of all that progress.

Bosh and LeBron are bad examples because they didn't have a ring when they took the pay cut. Once they got rings and lost that last time then both went on to sign max deals. No way Bosh would have taken a discount if he already had a ring since he had his mother, brother and other family to support plus he is married to that scam artist sociopath with the fake butt and she would never have allowed him to sign for less if he already had a championship the way she blows money.

Even Chris Paul taking a pay cut is him doing it hoping to finally win his first ring.
