Put it to you like this...who wants to play Dru Hill in 2020? Lol. I play AZ, Jodeci, AZ Yet, Silk, Sam Cooke, Luther Vandross..even Kelly Clarkson got a ton of catchy ass hits from those first two albums. But Dru Hill? They like Ja Rule...keep their ass in the trash can.

I Gotta Be (template for pretty much every single they had)

Let's Get Married

Let's Get Married (JD Remix)

Promise

Where The Party At

Fucc all these songs.

85% of Jagged Edge's discography can go to Hell.
"The Way That You Talk" is my most-bumped JE cut.

Plus you sus as hell.
to even think about playing them in any capacity.

real talk,...
without jodeci, r Kelly...
you can forget about females even being in the mood.

granted r Kelly is a pedo.
jodeci is not prominent.

Yet if there was no jodeci forever my lady.
most of you would not even be here...know dat.

Thank you.

You could bump all Dru Hill albums (and Sisqo first joint) top to bottom.
Jodeci only got one album like that, and those K-Ci & JoJo albums are a crime.
Dru Hill can go hit for hit with any group from the 90s.
I can't believe somebody put 112 up there with them. Yuck.

Sidebar: you right...I would watch an Unsung on Profyle. Tell you who else needs one:

Chante' Moore (she is the most underrated singer of the last 25 years if ya ask me)
Men Of Vizion
Lil Mo
Coolio

chante moore already has an Unsung episode.

Coolio definitely deserves one.

lil mo didn't really get to do enough but she was popular and is part of the tv-one family so they'll prolly give her a look like they did for monifah.

men of vision & profyle were never big. theres no way they get an episode.

Bruh When I Was A Kid I Heard About Groups Being Talked About As Legends And I Had No Idea Who They Were Come To Find Out I Been Hearing Their Music For Years On Tv Shows, Commercials, Movies, Cover Songs, etc.. Without Even Knowing It, They Had An Impact That Moved The World/Country

Who Is Keeping Dru Hills Music Alive? It Was Good For The Time But Dont Nobody Care About Them That Hard They Ain’t Legends

Their Biggiest Pop Comes When Someone Tosses Their shyt On At A House Party Or A BBQ lol

They Bring Out Dru Hill At The Grammys Half The Audience Gonna Be Lost The Other Half Gonna Say “Is That The Thong Song Guy!? “

ehh

this post is type suspect.

I think r&b just might not be your thing.

Dru Hill being bigger than Jagged Edge and 112 isn't the point. The point is they didn't impact beyond the 90's which affects their legacy in a major way. Staying together longer wasn't even the point because Jagged Edge was bigger on the '00's than they were in the 90's. 112 still had joints in the '00's. Dru Hill never really broke up. They dropped solo joints and lost one member, but still remained a group. They just didn't have much of anything that resonated beyond their first two albums and Sisqo's solo debut. I mean, many wouldn't believe that Sisqo was bigger than Usher at one point. Why? It's like Sisqo's debut is forgotten.

dru hill still outdraws JE & 112 to this day.

those groups didn't have the same level of cultural impact as dru hill. it doesn't matter how much longer they lasted.

and mind you, JE is my favorite r&b group post-mid '90s.

B2M were a great group and great singers and I played them albums out, but man, some of them songs are cringy...

"... All them times you just ran around with some other guy, I knew about it, I just didn't care..."

This is debatable. All three of those groups have classic songs. They could all still do tours. I will say 112 possibly edges out both groups based on Daron's writing and production credits which include Biggie's "Loving You Tonight" and Keyshia Cole's "I Should've Cheated". He co-wrote Gina Thompson's "The Things You Do" and the Isley Brothers' "Loating On Love" remix.

Thread isn't even about that, it's about their legacy and the fact that beyond 1999, they didn't have any real relevance aside from Sisqo being a punchline, it hurts their legacy. We are talking about 3-4 years tops (extended by Sisqo's solo album). Their contemporaries and other 90's staples fared better.

They were like the PG-13 version of Jodeci but probably more vocally talented than Jodeci

Jagged Edge Dru Hill 112 are all legendary groups doesn’t have to be either or.

Jagged Edge is the best out of the three really due to longevity, Dru Hills best work compares with any Rnb male group of the 90’s including Boyz 2 Men and Jodeci, to say they were average is truly incredible and you must have not been alive in the 90’s when there music was literally the soundtrack for many a black persons experience.

We won’t see the likes again, I mean this thread should be made about Ideal or Profyle and these two groups still made great music, no Next 112 Jagged Edge or Dru Hill slander should be tolerated, these guys literally contributed to the some of the best music of our lives.

They should have regrouped after Sisqo first album success... instead he tried to strike while the iron was hot and dropped a dud second go round. Became a walking punchline.
Prolly fukked up any continued group success.
