When Dru Hill came back in 2002, "I Love You" wasn't a hit. "I Should Be" was a moderate hit and they didn't release another album for 7-8 years. Sisqo's debut dropped the tail end of 1999. Yeah, he had a monstrous 2000 run off of material that was released in 1999. To say they weren't relevant beyond 1999 isn't ludicrous. After Sisqo went solo, it was pretty much a wrap even AFTER they came back for two more albums. I'm not downplaying them at all. Everything I'm saying is fact.

These groups are currently touring with another artist. None of them are headlining acts of said tour. They are sharing a bill.

Dru Hill had a monster run in a short period of time from 1996-2000. 112 still had hits up until 2005. They had bigger albums. Jagged Edge was huge in the '00's.

All facts, numbers don't lie here....

Nobody's saying Dru Hill wasn't great. When I think of Dru Hill, I think of late '90's R&B. Post 1999, I can guarantee none of you could name a song (group or solo) without Google.

Jagged Edge and 112 were still going strong in the '00's and they debuted around the same time as Dru Hill.
These harsh realities hit a lot of yall in here.

nikkas know godamn well they aint bump that 3rd Dru Hill album or that 2nd Sisqo album

The thread title is literally asking if they were below average and people in here are saying they were. The problem is people have two metrics when discussion artists, they are either among the greatest ever or they trash. It's a lot of ground in between. If you talking 90s there really was only one legendary male group, Boys II Men, (maybe two of you count the Jodeci / K-Ci and Jojo run) everyone else was behind them. And even Jodeci isn't headlining shyt anymore so you can't use that against Dru Hill. Dru Hill is firmly in that 2nd tier with Jagger Edge and 112.

As far as Rnb goes, Dru Hill Jodeci H Town are all in the first tier 112 Jagged Edge these are legendary groups for our culture they don’t need the pop adulation from white folks for it to be that way either.

Read back through the thread. People are complaining about Dru Hill slander, but what was said about Jodeci was far worse. I mean on what planet is Dru Hill's debut a classic R&B album and Jodeci doesn't have classic albums? I mean, I even seen posts stating that Jodeci was overrated.

Jodeci is a better group and has more songs... but no Jodeci album is better than their first joint or Enter the Dragon...

Put it to you like this...who wants to play Dru Hill in 2020? Lol. I play AZ, Jodeci, AZ Yet, Silk, Sam Cooke, Luther Vandross..even Kelly Clarkson got a ton of catchy ass hits from those first two albums. But Dru Hill? They like Ja Rule...keep their ass in the trash can.
This nikka said Kelly Clarkson and AZ Yet :russ:

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Late 90s early 2000s is where they hit their stride, but a poor man's Jodeci. "Tell Me" off the Rush Hour Soundtrack put them on the map commercially....

Nokio can't see Devante and Sisqo can't see K-Ci...please stop the madness...

how deep is your love was the soundtrack joint

That's not what I'm saying. I'm talking about the notion that Jodeci has NO classics, but in the same breath saying Dru Hill does.
