Read back through the thread. People are complaining about Dru Hill slander, but what was said about Jodeci was far worse. I mean on what planet is Dru Hill's debut a classic R&B album and Jodeci doesn't have classic albums? I mean, I even seen posts stating that Jodeci was overrated.
Jodeci's album with Love U 4 Life is better than any Dru Hill song or production ever. The contrary is preposterous.

Jodeci is a better group and has more songs... but no Jodeci album is better than their first joint or Enter the Dragon...
The show , the afterparty & the hotel was better than dru hill's first album & enter the dragon.

Dru Hill had joints....I think that comparison between them and Jodeci depends on your age, and what you were doing when their music was out. I was in middle school when Jodeci dropped, but I was knocking shyt down when Dru Hill was out lol. Shout out to both tho. Oh, and that nikka Hiram is a piece of shyt :hhh:

And this nikka was on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta talmbout have orgies w his wife. Ol fake ass Big Red ass nikka :scust:

The comparison to Jodeci is Sisqo’s voice and them literally admitting to biting off of Jodeci. Lol

just finished watching this episode.

I dont know if Dru Hill is Unsung. I remember when they first came out I chalked them up to sounding real Jodeci'ish. However, you can pattern yourself after anybody but it doesn't mean you can be successful. They were actually able to be successful while making some timeless songs. I kinda chalk them up to being a tad bit of overachievers. I felt the same way about the Jagged Edge episode. Dru Hill and Jagged Edge are just very talented groups with some great timeless songs, but not UnSung.

*edit*

looking at the list of every unsung artist that was profiled, I guess both Dru Hill and Jagged Edge are on par with most on the list.

Listen, I am/was a huge Dru Hill fan. But here's what happened....

Dru Hill was making REAL music without question. Parents and grandparents co signed them and kids too. They had talent, great writing, great vocals...undeniable. They were semi-pop stars but in a world of BSB, 98 degrees and NSync, they weren't exposed on that level as a boy band.

But when Sisqo went on his own, it was like he was a brand new artist in a new ocean. He was now in those full on pop star waters. Suddenly his hair went from being different but accepted, to it being seen as a joke. His dancing went from being cool to being seen as a joke. Suddenly now there were ppl calling him gay on the world stage. I mean it's kinda his fault bc he turned everything up to 10 trying to be a super performer. Unleash the Dragon was a really good rnb album...but the pop world had taken hold at that point so it didnt matter. And ppls hate of the Thong Song outshined that whole album. It's interesting bc they could have released Thong Song as Dru Hill and it would've been a different reaction I believe.

If he hadn't taken 3-4 yrs away from Dru Hill and became a laughing stock of pop music, maybe they drop another classic album as a group and cement their undoubted legacy.
