Jordan didn't play in a city like LA or Ny and he didn't do crazy shyt like Bron did with the decision and going back and forth to teams. This has kept Jordan from being hated on the level Lebron has been.

Jordan had plenty haters. The reason the ratings were so high for his Finals runs was because maybe 35% of the people tuning in wanted to see him lose. His critics weren't as loud as Bron's tho... cuz Jordan used to win.

And social media didn't exist so losers didn't have platforms.

:stopitslime:
you really think the Decision was crazier than RETIRING in your prime to go play baseball?

Man if Social media was around back then they would FLAME Jordan for "quitting" on his team to be a shytty minor league baseball player.

Between that and his pops being murdered for what many people beleive was his horrible gambling habit. Jordan would catch hell if he played today.

Lucky for him we remember him through revisionist glasses, and discard all his faults and imperfections.

When was the last time we've seen a player widely lauded as the greatest ever at his sport while still playing? No athlete since. I mean...not even halfway in his career he was viewed as the best.

And we are gonna act like Jordan haters had a real voice back then? Especially in the pre-Internet era?

Haters were on the fringes. The book the Jordan Rules had a **gasp** element of surprise to it because it was so against the grain of the love MJ normally received.

Nah they didn't hate him, they hated reggie but not Jordan. The influence dude had byway of his sneakers curbed alot of hate in NYC even amongst knick fans.
You're outta ya mind, lol @ u thinking some nikkas liking sneakers went above being a fanboy of their team. You're also not even factoring in all the cacs who could have given a fukk less about wearing some Jordans back in the day.

When did I say it went above their fandom? Jordans were a major part of being fresh, you can't be rocking J's and also be a o.d. hater. Im talking about folks in the hood, I ain't have no interaction with Yacubians when jordan was playing so I can't speak on that.

Chi-Town...living in Chocolate City
As one of the resident OLD HEADS.....lol

Imma contribute this...but my post may be biased cuz Im from the Chi.

I dont ever remember HATE.....but folks were saying he was a ball hog who couldnt beat the Pistons and Celts......who I hated cuz they honestly BALLED.

Jordan was a ICON from Day 1 tho..........most the criticism came from old white Purists who didn't like fancy moves etc. Jordan was emulated by everyone.....no matter where u went u would see nikkas who couldnt even hoop doing/trying reverse scoop layups...or nikkas going round with their tongue out or just doing the Jordan Hooper walk.

I understand folks from the cities Jordan beat not liking him....but over all...fukk no he didnt get the hate Kobe or LeBron is getting. shyt.....Kobe is the second coming...but its a BIG difference...Mike made it look easy......Kobe makes the shyt look hard. LeBron is one of a kind......Like Mike was. Respect that
