The endorsements have a direct correlation to Jeter playing in New York. If Jeter came up through the Kansas City system nobody would think twice about him. He'd make the hall of fame because he's hit a couple "magic numbers" that baseball heads hang on to and you obviously have to take into consideration his position but he would be Joey Votto status in terms of popularity.
Griffey was going to be a star anywhere.
numbers wise yeah of course....but in terms of his legacy as an icon...its more 90's nostalgia than anything else, which is rampant around here.
