Alot of people lament kobe winning one single mvp in his 20 years in the nba but looking at it closely i can only identify three years where i can say that kobe was clearly the best which is 2006,2007 and 2008 when he won.

After those years from 2009/2010 to current 2018 it is the general consensus that bron is still no 1 with KD being a close 2nd.

It’s not exactly a secret that his last 5-6 all defensive team nominations came off reputation. At this point he wasn’t guarding premier scorers anymore on a regular basis and wasn’t consistently defending at the level he had from about 1999-2002.

Dwanye wade did not finish top 5 in mvp voting, he was no where near the best player in the league. kobe was the best SG and the best player.
