Honestly, I feel like I can make a case for both sides.
The side for MJ is obvious..people try to take advantage of celebs all the time, the bigger the more to lose, and with his eccentricity he could be an easy target. Kids came out, changed stories, flip flopped ect....that's as simple as you need to make it, and in a legal sense unless they had hard physical evidence he should have walked, 'guilty' or not, which he did.
The side against MJ is obvious, but I feel like you have to be REAL objective and detached to assess his behavior without jumping directly to him being some sort of monster. You have people talking about how shrewd of a businessman he was, how different he was from his public persona ect. So him acting so naive about why all this shyt looked funny..looks funny.
I refuse to believe that he was some sort of inept man-child that was oblivious to how his actions looked...therefore I honestly feel like with the amount of fame, money, power, influence he had...he really lived his life by his own rules, laws and perceptions.
You have obvious childhood abuse issues, sexuality and religious issues..you throw all that together and give him enough money, power and influence to isolate himself from the rest of society, the rules change, for him at least....and anybody who would have a mind to check him about ANYTHING gets thrown in the bushes. I wouldn't put it past ANYBODY who is/was that psychologically broken to try and assert his/her power in a negative way. We are
ALL very capable of doing things that we wouldn't imagine doing on a conscious level.
I mean look at who he patterned himself after...if you really watch/read Peter Pan as an adult you start to see how much of a selfish, abusive prick he really was, maybe that's obvious now but as a child I COMPLETELY MISSED THAT, i just wanted to fly and live in neverland 
I didn't realize how much of a scumbag he was until I watched it with my kids and had to turn that shyt off....watch that movie and then imagine an encounter with a real life Peter Pan...a real person trapped in a childs mentality with "magical" powers (money) to keep you distracted while he makes plans to stunt your growth to keep himself "entertained".
