Turn coal into diamond breh.

Pippen isn't nearly the player he became if not for MJ. When you're all world GOAT teammate is going hard all day every day, even in practice, well what's your excuse for not getting better?
Pippen is successful because Pippen had the mind, physical ability, and work ethic to make himself great.
Give Pippen credit for what he did, its pathetic you think he is an example of Mike.
SMH.

Kobe played with Smush Parker, did that make Smush better? nope.
LeBron played with Boobie Gibson, that didn't make him great in and of itself.
I can go on and on, but the point is simple.

Breh, Pippen himself has said repeatedly he wouldn't be the player he was if not for MJ. Please stop.

Ain't nobody talking about Kobe in here.

Pippen had to have the ability and his own skills and talent to be the player he became.
Did having JOrdan as an influence help, certainly it did, but Jordan's influence would be wasted if he didn't have the physical ability, the mind, and personality to be what he became.

Its common sense really

:mjlol: myths and funny beliefs people have.

Hard work makes you look good and lets people feel comfortable around you because it kind of "humanizes" your natural gifts. It's a nice "story".

Fact is if two people put in the same amount of work, one person will get more out of it than the other. If you're a rarity, you get that much more out of it.

For example, during the same agility drills even somebody at Jordan's same height and weight, may not develop muscle like Jordan did simply just because. Same goes for coordination drills like shooting, dribbling, balance, etc.

Some people are truly special because of their natural gifts. Like I said, born with glitches and can act any old way they want because people are interested/invested in them. People would tolerate Jordan's competitiveness, but let that be any average person and they'd isolate themselves, something that could be truly crippling to their career.

That's just life, some thrive.

I like this post because you can easily delve into genetics.

Another poster mentioned the book The Life....I read the first qtr of that book and it in they spoke about his great grandfather:

Lazenby did briefly talk to Jordan about Jordan’s great-grandfather for the new book. But otherwise, said Lazenby, Jordan would not talk to him for this book because he wanted editorial control.

Learning about previous generations of Jordan’s family in North Carolina provided the context Lazenby was seeking for the book.

Jordan’s paternal great-grandfather, Dawson Jordan, was a sharecropper and moonshiner who died when Michael Jordan was 14 years old.

He was the power figure in the family,” Lazenby said. “Michael’s great-grandfather is a powerful story in his own right and no one had ever told that story.”

Lazenby also learned about Michael Jordan’s late maternal grandfather, a farmer and moonshiner named Edward Peoples.

He came to own his own land,” Lazenby said. “He had a two-story house and all this acreage. … They had this determination economically that until you understand that context, you don’t understand Jordan.”

Just going off my own memory....I read that his great grandfather walked with a significant hobble, due to one leg being shorter than the other.

However, that didn't stop Dawson Jordan from being a logger, a job that was brutally backbreaking, it entailed gathering gigantic tree logs, tying them up together with some rope material and pushing up a river stream for processing. Despite being physically disabled from his hobble, Dawson Jordan was the top logger in that area where he worked. He was a physical marvel despite his limitations.

I read that once he hit his 60s he became a chef for rich white people at a NC country club and according to the book, Dawson Jordan's food was impeccable and the rich white CACs loved it. Not only that, but he was a charismatic host who apparently charmed the shyt outta these cacs.

He was still traveling around with his donkey and wares well into his 70s and 80s.

Breh I been saying this. Playing w/MJ will reveal your mentality quick. Either you'll buckle and become soft, or MJ will make you mentally tough quick, leading to becoming a better player. You're just proving my point.

Nobody talking about Kobe in here breh.

Bron? He too busy duckin dunk contests and practicing yet another FT shooting routine:mjlol:

Jordan was a psychopath.
He is not somone to be emulated or admired, you should pity the man.
Bill Russell was a greater champion without being that piece of shyt.
Wilt was great an personable, the greatest player of all time.
Magic and Bird highly personable as well.

So the difference between one of the greats and THE greatest, is psychopathy, got cha.

MJ doens't do anything but prey on people who worship him or admire him.
LIke almost getting people killed by setting them up to play with the fukking mob and laughing about it.

Larry Bird and Magic showed you don't have to be an a$$hole like Jordan to have success. Same as Wilt and Russell and Shaq

Wilt is the GOAT, hard for me to put Jordan in the GOAT position when the league altered everything to support him and him alone.

MJ was like that to everyone breh. Just some wilted, while others became stronger. And they got rings because of it.

Breh I’ve watched bird and magic. They’re great. But even they say MJ is goat.

What does MJ being a psychopath have to do with his on the court success? Nothing, he is just a psychopath who is good at basketball.
You take away the personality flaws he is the same basketball player

Bird and Magic always congratulate everyone, doesn't change the fact that both of them, Kareem, Wilt, and bill have just as good arguments as being called the GOAT as MJ. In Wilt's case even better argument.
