But there best album is without him. But he is the founder of New Edition so there's literally no group without him.

that's another way of looking at it and he made his best music without them.

and on the flip side, without the group, there is no Bobby. The group is the foundation.

there many ways to view this, lol

Ronnie legit served no purpose in the group .. he was just there. Like someone said above Bobby was New Edition .. without him there really wasn’t a group. They could have went without his shenanigans but it worked in his favor. He had the best solo career and well .. Whitney.

Ronnie was the coolest one in NE. His dancing looked effortless.

Agreed, when it comes to R&B Johnny & Dennis Edwards for Temptations were best replacements for groups I’ve come across. Seem like every other group fell off heavy once a big member was replaced

Nope. But Johnny is the best replacement in an RNB group ever!!! Nayoooooo :blessed:
Gill is the 2nd best replacement in an R&B group, Temptations lead singer David Ruffin would be the best, he replaced Elbridge Bryant in 1964.

New Edition was almost on their way out before Heart Break. Ralph was close to dropping his solo album, their last album didn't do that well, and I'm pretty sure they were still in debt.

Not to say they would have been better off if Bobby stayed, but they had to do almost a complete overhaul (Hiring Johnny Gill, getting Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis) to get their momentum back.

Bobby was swagged the fukk out on his debut album.

Nothing but hits :wow:

Don't Be Cruel was his second album. His first album didn't really go anywhere. Just like New Edition, he had to change things up to make people take him seriously as a solo artist.

New Edition got Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Bobby got L.A. Reid & Babyface, along with Teddy Riley to put it all together. :wow:
