Prime Prodigy (96-97) was above everyone

Juice was better in 96 till.
in that era.

Freestyle or written >>>>>

Freestyle or written vinyl debut

Tired of the bullshyt.

No loan dodger rappers get to supercede the top grassroots talent. That built a headline draw.
By show and prove.

Yeah it is cool to have all these deviations face ass discussions. As the real discussion.
juice has completely sewn up.

Notice the principals of discussion of this thread. Is always for nikkaz. who were label plant load dodger face ass rappers.
Never the real grassroots talent. That created the profitability.
in primetime radio and television. For labels to even take notice.

Andre 3000 for consistency. Produgy fans had Prodigy falling off after Murda Muzik. That's five years. Andre 3000 was still great beyond 2000. In terms of poetry, Andre 3000>>>>. He does more with less. He can hive tou the storytelling i.e. any of Kast's "Da Art of Storytelling". We got a whole narrative of Sasha Thumper in one verse. Another verse about recording the song we are listening to as the world is ending. He could give you introspection.

Prodigy was better at turning violent scenes into beautiful, cinematic movie sequences. In terms of raw poetry, Dre.

3 Stacks didn’t put out enough music to “fall off”. The Kast stuff is great but Mobb catalogue even better (IMO)

You obviously ain’t hear The Return of The Mac. P was spazzing on that album but I’d say that was the last time he was a great lyricist and started falling off but he had a 15 year career of consistently putting out music at that point.

That was a great album. Very cohesive and thematic

But he wasn't "spazzing" on any of the tracks. Flow content and presentation was basic. It worked and worked well. But he wasnt talkin bout shyt or styling on thst album.

And i loved that album

This song legit gives me chills. One of a very short list of hip hop records that brought a tear to my eye

3 Stacks has nothing like this in his catalogue.

:wow: Smh this why I cant respect any case for Andre to be top anything

Rappers from Prodigy era HAD to shed their soul and share their darkest secrets. That’s what makes rappers great we can know their story and relate to it across multiple albums hell even decades.

We don’t know anything of substance about Andre just features that’s not good enough. Same reason why Jadakiss doesn’t rank with all time greats. It’s insulting to rappers who have so much depth in their catalogue, and insulting to thr art form, to think a Ngga who can just rap good is an all timer

For you to post "we don't know enough about Andre 3000" or that "he didn't shed his secrets" says you dib't know enough to even be discussing this. For one, we didn't have to read interviews to know Andre 3000's real name. His stage name and real name were the same thing word to Nas. He made an autobigraphical rap record where he talkd about his son and his child's mother, Erykah. Let's talk about how autobiographical the lyrics in songs like "Elevators" and "Git Up, Git Out" were.

If you prefer Prodigy over Andre just say that and stand on business. You look foolish saying Andre never gave us substance in regard to his personal life. His life was basically most of what he rapped about.

:scust: ‘Man in the arena’. I have far more respect for an artist who put their self and legacy on the line vs a rapper who doesn’t.

3k gets absolutely no credit for ‘not falling off’

3000 put out 3 classic albums with OutKast. 1 near classic. Love below is a solo.

Then he basically fetired but blessed with album worth of dope ass verses.

P, who I love, didn’t drop a decent verse in the 21st century. After HNIC, he wasn’t even the best member of Mobb Deep. Honestly, I’ve never seen a bigger fall off than Prodigy.

I tried to listen to the new Mobb album, but P is so wack, I couldn’t get through it.
