For you to post "we don't know enough about Andre 3000" or that "he didn't shed his secrets" says you dib't know enough to even be discussing this. For one, we didn't have to read interviews to know Andre 3000's real name. His stage name and real name were the same thing word to Nas. He made an autobigraphical rap record where he talkd about his son and his child's mother, Erykah. Let's talk about how autobiographical the lyrics in songs like "Elevators" and "Git Up, Git Out" were.

If you prefer Prodigy over Andre just say that and stand on business. You look foolish saying Andre never gave us substance in regard to his personal life. His life was basically most of what he rapped about.

What kind of elementary bullshyt is this :heh: That is not depth.

Nor are his verses on elevators or Git up Get out. But even if you do consider that depth, what’s missing is the opportunity to grow with the artist and have those bars that hit different

Ie, when Nas raps about a newborn Destiny, then years later he spits daughters. It holds more weight. When you remember Jay spiting about a stillborn birth when ffwd hearing him spit Legacy as a father of 3. It means more

My personal favorite hearing Joe budden rap about his baby mama drama not seeing his son then ffwd hearing him spit about his relationship with his son on Wanna Know :mjcry:

It’s a different level of artistry that 3k could never get to

Two different kinds of MC's.

But as someone else mentioned, P has way more classic quotables.

I think this one is more about preference.

Real artistic growth like threating to shoot nikkas fro the millionth time and stabbing nikka's brains with nose bones. Yeah real artistic growth.

You're going off on a tangent. Show me where Prodigy did any of this because Andre 3000 showcased this with "A Day In The Life of Benjamin Andre" and then years later with his verse on T.I.'s "Sorry" which is almost a decade a part.

Depth is definitely not an issue with Andre 3000. You moved goal posts from the personal to now depth. Not smelling the aroma of a diploma is shedding secrets. As is telling us he didn't vote and giving us the readon why on the same song ("Git Up Git Out". We also learn that he worked at a loading dock. "Elevators" talks about the come up of Outkast in his verses. How is that not personal.

Nah.

They have one of the best 5 album runs in rap history.
To you. Not me.

I been on forums for over 25 years. I been around since their debut. For all these amazing albums

I never hear no one talk about their album cuts ever on forums or outside the net

some rappers every single song in their catalog is dissected.i never hear and see anyone speaking on a random track 7 on these 5 amazing albums. Love Below don’t even count to me it’s not rap

Andre is a better lyricist objectively, more poetic(actually that may be cap) but definitely more technically skilled, in terms of Multis, metaphors, entredres, dont know how it’s a landslide for P here.
