My Pops Forever RIP
He’s seen his ERA go up by nearly a whole run tonight it seems. Not really sure why he didn’t get the hook after 1. Should’ve been clear by then that he didn’t have it.
Take one for the team.

This team has worn out that pen during a stretch where the team doesn’t have many days off

Just disgusting.

The bright side of this is Cashman can't BS his way out of the SP dilemna now. Tanaka was supposed to be the one stable SP we had. German has overachieved, but we can't count on him, nor can we put that pressure on him. CC, this has to be the final season, period. Happ is.....I have no idea why Cashman chose him and Paxton over Corbin, but here we are.... Headed into August with the rotation in shambles. And now, the bullpen is getting worn out against good teams.

I think not going after Cole was worse. Verlander I get because those last years in Detroit looked like he was finished as an ace. Cole on the other hand was right there for the taking

Facts! And let's be honest if Verlander got traded here chances are he wouldn't of faired well.

Out there in Houston they make wonders out of these starters. I don't know what they do that makes guys start to get an uptick in velocity.

As a Tigers fan, I have to correct these talking points. Verlander shoulda won the Cy Young in 2016 (I'll never get over those idiot voters giving it to Porcello. All of them should have lost their votes :snoop:); his ERA and WHIP in 2015 were 3.38/1.088; in 2017 he had a mediocre first half of the season. After his second start in July leading up to the trade, he was trending back towards dominance. His velocity never wavered either. He was always throwing mid-high 90s except when he had that oblique injury and surgery.

Every contender should have been trying to get him: Yanks, Cubs, Dodgers, Nats, etc.
