For as good as the Yanks analytics team is did they not see that Stanton has a hole in his zone? Why haven’t they hired a Pete Rose type to round out his hitting? Hell Jeff Bagwell is available, he consulted with us for 1 month and everyone magically started hitting better (this was 6/7 years ago).
What's crazy is that, had Cashman been really on his job, Jeter had Ozuna and Yelich on the market too....We probably could've had Yelich if we added Frazier (when he had better value) and 2 more higher-end prospects (ex. Florial, Adams when they both were in the top 100 MLB prospects) plus a Tyler Wade or middle IF to supplement that deal. We definitely had the prospects to make the deal that Milwaukee did. Yelich would've covered both Frazier's and Florial's future OF prospects.
Instead, even with the warning signs, Cashman sold Hal on the splash player in Stanton, due to the discounted contract for lesser prospects, and the rest is history.
Yea, I can tell you're not mad. You're ranting about hoe the Mets are non-existent and all that.. but yet.. here you are. As for Thor wanting out, you're wrong. He hates the management (who doesn't) but loves Queens and the fans. You might have a point with Wheeler, but who knows. He seems like a spoiled entitled brat.. so he'd fit right in with your culture. Too bad you couldn't upgrade your staff by adding him. As for Stroman, either he'll beast, or we'll move him also.

Its not like we gave up shyt for him anyway.
We're in a Yankees' thread talking about the Yankees and Cashman's failure to land what we needed to properly contend for a WS title. Have fun with your great rotation and Alonso on the road to nowhere.
We reject spoiled brats, which is one of the reasons why Joba had to go, and why Frazier will probably follow, and why Ellsbury won't be seen anytime soon. We don't suffer any fools. We field professional folks about their business and the org's business of winning the 28th WS title. At least for now, we're still in the conversation for that, rather than not at all.
Our SP rotation leaves a lot to be desired right now, and there is frustration with how things played out in the offseason and trade deadline. Just the same, we currently have the 2nd best record in MLB at the moment. Without so many injuries to key players this year, we actually should be much better. Not sure any other team would've been able to withstand so many key losses and performed as well. We'll go with what we have.
