For as good as the Yanks analytics team is did they not see that Stanton has a hole in his zone? Why haven’t they hired a Pete Rose type to round out his hitting? Hell Jeff Bagwell is available, he consulted with us for 1 month and everyone magically started hitting better (this was 6/7 years ago).

it's arrogance or the team just wants to turn a profit as much as possible. Winning via their method I truly believe is the key for a lot of the FO, not just winning. They want to prove people wrong and loudly say so. But also analytics in sports is no different than cost cutting in real businesses too. Spend on what you undoubtedly need (Yanks ain't doing this now a days) and be cheap and effective elsewhere. So stars get paid but everyone else becomes a bargain bin deal.

However, analytics don't win or lose you championships, talent and coaching/managering does. You're not winning a title without 3 solid starters, a balanced offense, and good closer...has always been that way, will always be that way.

Nah, not mad. Mets could never get a rise out of me. They're non-existent where it counts. This was their WS win. Says a lot.

The rest of that is pure facts. Thor and Wheeler wanted out and are gone. Stroman had no say in going there, and through his pops, the disappointment in going to the Mets came out.

Yea, I can tell you're not mad. You're ranting about hoe the Mets are non-existent and all that.. but yet.. here you are. As for Thor wanting out, you're wrong. He hates the management (who doesn't) but loves Queens and the fans. You might have a point with Wheeler, but who knows. He seems like a spoiled entitled brat.. so he'd fit right in with your culture. Too bad you couldn't upgrade your staff by adding him. As for Stroman, either he'll beast, or we'll move him also. :yeshrug: Its not like we gave up shyt for him anyway.

What's crazy is that, had Cashman been really on his job, Jeter had Ozuna and Yelich on the market too....We probably could've had Yelich if we added Frazier (when he had better value) and 2 more higher-end prospects (ex. Florial, Adams when they both were in the top 100 MLB prospects) plus a Tyler Wade or middle IF to supplement that deal. We definitely had the prospects to make the deal that Milwaukee did. Yelich would've covered both Frazier's and Florial's future OF prospects.

Instead, even with the warning signs, Cashman sold Hal on the splash player in Stanton, due to the discounted contract for lesser prospects, and the rest is history.

We're in a Yankees' thread talking about the Yankees and Cashman's failure to land what we needed to properly contend for a WS title. Have fun with your great rotation and Alonso on the road to nowhere.

We reject spoiled brats, which is one of the reasons why Joba had to go, and why Frazier will probably follow, and why Ellsbury won't be seen anytime soon. We don't suffer any fools. We field professional folks about their business and the org's business of winning the 28th WS title. At least for now, we're still in the conversation for that, rather than not at all.

Our SP rotation leaves a lot to be desired right now, and there is frustration with how things played out in the offseason and trade deadline. Just the same, we currently have the 2nd best record in MLB at the moment. Without so many injuries to key players this year, we actually should be much better. Not sure any other team would've been able to withstand so many key losses and performed as well. We'll go with what we have.

Stros had to play the AAA team for nearly 2 months while all our position players and one of our starting pitchers was out. It’s amazing both teams were able to still stay on top the AL with so many missing pieces. Depth is more important now than ever these days.

Yall have a great core of young players and starting pitching. Also your farm teams have been baring loads of quality talent in recent years. Kudos to your front office for making it all work. Yes, quality depth is at a premium now and is being tested this season for both squads.

I knew Gio Urshela had talent (I've done a lot of trips to Barranquilla, Colombia and some of my friends there have played winter ball and pickup with him over the years. Same with Donovan Solano and his brother), but no one expected this kind of productivity. It's actually refreshing to see these young unheralded guys produce when giving the opportunity.

It's gonna be funny to look back in hindsight if Stanton was the reason we couldn't make big FA splashes for good pitchers. And the funny thing is that we don't even need him offensively.
he is a big reason and worse than not needing him is that he hasnt even really played

Dude is in a Yanks thread trolling cause his team didnt trade the yanks a pitcher but yankee fans are mad ? lmao stop focusing on the yankees for once and be a fan of your own team, mets fans have the worst inferiority complex of any team in sports. you dont see jets fans hating and being obsessed with the giants.

i remember in 2000 the WS, Mutts fans talked all this shyt, "oh none of your 25 ws matters if you dont beat us, this is bragging rights for life, you can never talk shyt if you lose to us" we crush them in 5 games. the very next season, they miss the offs, we make it to the 9th of game 7 of the WS and lose. mets fans the next day " haha the yankees suck, you didnt win" focus on your own team you fakkits lmao

Also while everybody's bringing up the trade with Miami for Stanton....

I'm sitting here remembering we gave them Caleb Smith, and think it would be nice to have him in our rotation right now :francis:

Thor doesn't want out lol. Speaking with someone within the organization, Thor's people approached the Mets about an extension. The Wilpons want him out, they don't like that he speaks his mind and the Wilpons are fukking morons. LMAO @ couldn't handle the pressure of the Bronx. They guy pitched a gem in game 3 of a World Series with his team down 2-0, pitched an even better game in the wild card game against one of the best post season pitchers of all time. And you guys act like he did this in Wisconsin, he did it in NYC, we're the Mets payers also have answer for poor management. Yes I know my team is a pathetic fukking joke and you guys are the Yankees and we should all bow down to you guys but you guys are fukking delusional.

Focus on our own team lmao, you guys are blaming the Mets for the Yankees not getting a pitcher lmfao. Stroman was there before the Mets got him, Kuechel was a free agent, you guys could have spent on Corbin instead of Paxton, but nope it's the fault of one of the poorest ran franchises in sports. Like I said, you guys are fukking delusional

You didn't hear, it's the inept Mets fault the Yanks rotation is in shambles. The team with the worst owners in the sport, with a GM that traded away one of the best prospects in baseball for and overpaid washed up PED user, they did this, they planned to do this, they did it just to stick it to the Yankees
