Cashman once again was right to hold off during the trade deadline. The team pulled together and weathered the bad starting pitching storm and has us in top 3 record contention as well as battling for HFA.
While I believe that we still need an ace or two, I can settle for the recent quality outings of Paxson. Matsui has a good performance record in the postseason. German has proven that the moment is not too big for him. Now add Sevy and Montgomery back and we got something. Betances adds some more punch to the bullpen.
Maybe not as dominant as Houston's SP, but we don't need to be. We just have to take advantage of our opportunities when they present themselves, and not overswing searching for HRs, when a string of hits can also do the trick as well as wear down the opposition.
Any SP having to face our lineup at full strength with Stanton will have problems. Can't run through a lineup this potent 2-3x. There will be a mistake that we'll make them pay dearly.

When Stanton is back Tuesday, he should be the only regular guaranteed in the lineup every day (Judge too, but if they can DH him some nights that’s fine too)

I don’t think ever seen a team in any sport manage to have this many injuries to both key players and subs and still keep winning. Props to the team but the hopes of them being close to full strength when the playoffs arrive seem a little shaky right now.
