gosh, I am amazed how much y'all care about this
the young man is back with his family
the five dudes (who are not guilty of anything as far as I know) are back with their brehs

the desertion issues can be sorted out after due process

why are people sour? were they supposed to leave him there without ever hearing his side of it?

Just a year ago conservatives were all up in Obama's ass for "leaving" this guy behind. Now the US government frees him and conservatives are mad. At what point does Obama just say "you know, I really don't give a damn what they have to say about me."

Not true. They were operating in their Area of Operations. That's what AO means. This includes conducting contact patrols. This is infantry 101 shyt.

Between earlier and now, I came across this NYT article which sought to explore how true the claims of the soldiers were

I don't even care.

I just really wanna know what his punishment will be. The US Govt doesn't take desertion lightly AT ALL

Did they act like he was a hero or were they happy to accomplish a goal?

How is it not a win win?

the minute the us started negotiating it was a huge L for the US, im not even gonna argue about the merits of the negotiation, i think that is obama's discretion, but obama shouldnt act like it wasnt an L to have to negotiate with a bunch of clowns

Allegedly he wandered off base before, and came back. If that's true it'll kill the deserter claims in court.

It would be funny if ol'boy was actually a CIA operative, and he helped save dozens of soliders lives. But he can't say shyt, because it is all classified. It has to look like he went AWOL
He comes back to the states, and people persecute him and say he aint shyt, he aint no hero ( I thought all soliders were heros :sas2:) , persecute him just like Jesus brehs. :to:

Apparently breh, will have to face military court for desertion.

Why is being a double agent so hard to believe? Just because the nikka aint some elite solider or some shyt.

I mean they just killed Bin Laden 3 years ago, maybe he gathered intelligence.

Guantonomo is fukked up though, them nikkas in there have no idea what they are in there for. And when they are getting out. That is some wild shyt.

I can't believe they already besmirching ol'boys name.:snoop: And he aint even in the country yet.

im not even sure if deserter is a legal term, but AWOL is mos def a legal term, and going AWOL is definitely a crime under the UCMJ, if he left and came back he was still AWOL

goes directly against one of the core (or at least supposed core) of American foreign policy and terror management. Its wonderful he's back with his family. But if a group like the Taliban got hold some actual dignitary they would hold vast amounts of power. Also it undermines the deaths of POWs and hostages that the US never gave a shyt about. Countless journalists (which i don't think truly count because thats done on a volunteer basis), contracted workers, soldiers and just flat out innocents have been taken by many groups and left to die OR may have died before a proper extraction plan could be implemented.

Only thing i can think of is this guys knows alot more than we are being told about :manny:
