Voting only matters when you think the system works.
The system doesn't work, but whites in power vote religiously... :bppatrice:
How is your vote going to keep these rich corporations from paying off politicians?
By voting in candidates who oppose corporations being classified as people.
How is it going to stop the brutality of the police?
By voting for local judges that will hold police accountable, campaigning against bills that increase funding to police departments that don't hold their officers accountable, and keeping police chiefs, sheriffs, and prosecutors who won't prosecute killer cops out of office.
Example: Wesley Bell Unseats Bob McCullough, the County Prosecutor Who Failed To Indict Officer In Mike Brown Case
Increase actual opportunities for minorities?
Vote for candidates that share your values, in whole, or at least, in part.
Voting in this system regardless of party is a vote for the same suppression and problems that have been in this system since it's creation. Quit voting for cancer and replacing it with cancer!
There's an old saying that if you can't find a candidate you like, you should run for office yourself. :stephena1:
I believe in strategic voting. Because of how our system is set up, doing nothing
is literally the worst thing you can do.
You sitting at home does nothing to stop white supremacists from heading to the polls. :panthersafe:
Quit letting white people decide your future.
And quit waiting for some mythical "Goldilocks" conditions for you to vote and do what you can
now. Real change doesn't happen overnight, and it won't happen unless you do something about it.
