We fed up. I improved my own life immensly this past year and VOTING HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MY PROGRESS.

Nothing.

I had to do all the work no politician had me in mind. They don't have a agenda for me or people that look like me specifically so I'm done.

Coli militants :wow:

The sh*t you see in TLR is almost like what you'd see on Reddit or stormcac.

Seriously. No wonder Trump's president; dudes in here are willing to give away the civil Rights they have already.:francis:

Well live though Trump.

My life is on the up and up and it's because I'm starting to live without fear.

I'm realizing that I do control my own destiny.

And if I'm not going to get anything for my vote then I'm not voting and that's A GOOD THING.

Y'all brehs need to learn your history. :bpfacepalm:
So let’s take a overwhelmingly democratic state like NY or Cali. Is one breh not voting going to mean NY is going to become a red state ?:mindblown:

There's still local elections for the people who get to determine the fate of the resources directly around you :snoop:

Like down here for instance we had a vote a couple months on a local tax initiative which also involved closing the school in thee black part of the city to build a new modern high school in the white part of the city . Guess who voted and who didn't :mjpls: Now people want to protest and stuff because the school is closing

The bottom line is to be informed and involved.

You want to make the point that one persons vote wont make a difference in a deeply partisan state. In a national election, perhaps not. But you can still make a difference locally.

There's more at stake than that.

Take Joe Crowley being voted out in favor of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in NY's 14th district. Crowley was a Democrat, but was voted out in favor of a more progressive Democratic candidate that better reflected the district. I see that as a good thing.

There's even more: did you vote for your local aldermen? Election officials? Judges? Sheriffs? How many of these positions get filled due to voting apathy (i.e. they get by on the old, white, elderly vote)?
How many of the above positions affect criminal justice in respect to black neighborhoods?:francis:

You take entirely too much for granted. How old are you?

If you drive on a road, have to pay a toll, expect your traffic lights to work, be able to work and prosper without fear of losing your job due to skin color, expect to buy any home that you can afford without being limited by skin color, then yes, voting had something to do with you prospering.

Was it your vote, specifically? No.

But you assume that the tools to prosper would still be there, even though you think no black person's vote ever mattered.

Voting isn't a zero sum game. Yeah, the process will go on with or without you, but while you're getting yours, you might as well have a say.

I'm certainly not saying that things are great for the black community. We're a long way off from where we should be. But that doesn't mean we haven't gained anything. :francis:

I always vote locally...my pops use to be on our local park district board so I definitely understand the importance. He actually led the effort to build a playground in our particular subdivision :ehh:

All I’m saying is whoever the big money power players want to get in for president/us senate/us house of reps is who gone get in. That being said, I do not vote in national elections

Plus the only potential candidate I truly would’ve voted for is Biden

Eh...you could say that for Senate and presidential elections, but House Reps depend more on your direct votes. The House is where people can affect the most change, if we're being honest.

Senators are more powerful overall, and are less vulnerable around election time.

I understand voter apathy at the national level. I really do. But it's paramount that black people utilize what we have, whenever we can, to affect change.
Voting, in my opinion, is about the easiest thing you could do. :kanyebp:

Biden is the truth. :smugbiden:

It goes against a man's nature to be in a constant state of protest. Protest should only be a stage of development on the road to realizing one's ability to function independently. Protest, by definition, means one is without power. Your reverence for the protests of the Civil Wrongs Movement is shaped by your love for your oppressor. Protests are no longer, and they never really were, effective. Your oppressor knows this, Antwon Rose no longer being on the planet proves protests are not effective.

A Blackman with any amount of dignity, which obviously you are not, wants to be self-determined. Protesting your oppressor's evils year after year, with little to nothing to show for it, strips one of their dignity, and makes them the fools of the civilized nations of the Earth.

Tell me what those ass whooping from your precious Civil Wrongs Movement did for Antwon Rose. Tell me how voting would have kept that 17 year old brother alive. F-gg-t
Maybe the kid shouldn't have been riding with folks doing drive bys. Sucks he died. But he was hanging with the wrong crowd so he was living risky by default.
