No one was making music like Marvin Gaye and Al Green in the 90s so I’m not sure why you’d expect music like that in the OP to be dominating charts today.
But there are some folks making music like the OP, more than we’re making 70s type music in the 90s so I don’t get why people always bytch about this.

My current favorite is Snoh Aalegra. Her album is dope. And should appease the stuck in the 90s crowd.
I was surprised by how much I liked Jhene’s latest. Not generally a fan, but that album had more good songs than not. I wouldn’t say it’s comparable to the OP, tho
