There's almost too much good music out nowadays, people just don't know where to look or aren't open minded enough to accept the diversities of certain artists.
You really can't say rap and r&b is dead when over the last couple years we've seen artists like Tyler, Frank, Earl, Childish Gambino, Solange, Thundercat, FKA twigs, Blood Orange, just to name a very select few.
