I respect it. As a kid I never watched Raw really until the Attitude era. My only real memories of first watching Raw was the Bret and Shawn feud. Other than that I would just watch PPV's and rent PPV's from blockbuster when it came to WWF stuff. When I went back on the network and saw old Raw's pre Attitude era I KNOW that was when I was exclusively watching Nitro and it is for all the reasons you are saying.

Im just saying though my fondest memories of wrestling come from 97-99 and just so happens Russo was the writer. For me I had checked out in 2000 completely from wrestling and came back for the failed invasion angle, from there just stopped completely til a few years ago when my boy got me back into this wrasslin BS. All of that happens to coincide with Russo so logically I cant just shyt on the guy. That era was the best to me personally :yeshrug:

Relax about what? You're simply wrong.

Russo wrote shows where an 80 year old woman gave birth to a hand :trash:

Rather see shyt like that then a 25 minute Roman vs Rusev match. :manny:

The hand was one of many topics of conversation at the lunch table. What are wrestling fans talking about the day after Raw nowadays? :patrice:

Russo has literally been a failure for 17 years.
But keep giving him credit for the attitude era:mjlol:

Nothing to do with the talent they had coming into their own/primes (Austin/Rocky/Foley) or Vince sifting through the crap Russo threw at him and making it gold.If that wasn't the case, how come Russo has done nothing for 17 years

Russo's talked about this a lot. In WWF he had free reign to do whatever the fukk. Thats why they filmed shyt wherever the fukk they wanted to film, if they wanted to film at a morgue Vince would pay for it. They made the show a spectacle. Think of all your favorite Austin moments and they prob all cost mad money.

TNA broke as fukk. WCW was politician city. WWF is where magic can happen cause they had it set up perfect. Right place, right time. If we cant give credit to the writer of the show for those guys hitting their stride than what? The Ringmaster was Austin's gimmick before Russo. Rock wasnt the Rock. Foley was given more freedom to show all sides of his personality (literally). Russo put them in positions to succeed. Obviously he didnt write all of their lines cause thats not how they used to do it, but he gave them the angles that you know and love. To shyt on that is to shyt on the best era in wrasslin history.

He was Stone Cold before Russo got near the book stop that. The character that truly made the era had already started in 96,Russo nowhere near it until 97

That's funny because Russo would rather have shytty cringeworthy "comedy" skits than actual wrestling. In fact he didn't even like actual "wrestling".

I didn't know Russo in 2016 had so much power where nerds dive on swords protecting him. I don't even think his own kids do that
I legit think they didnt watch wcw 2000. It was without question the worst professional wrestling show of all time.

Given what Vince was booking from 1993-1996 an what he's been doing the last 15 years, I would hesitate to give him too much credit.

Whats funny is I just watched and enjoyed Smackdown which only had 3 matches in 2 hours. And the most boring part was the 25 minute match between AJ and Ambrose.

Lucha Underground is the closest thing we have to the Attitude Era. When they give you a match, they give you a fukking match. Not some jabronie one on one for 25 minutes. If its a long ass match its gonna have some kinda crazy ass gimmick. Other than that usually matches are straight to the point and to drive a storyline.

And actually I have been watching Nitro 2000 recently, and those episodes are hilarious and I recommend them. Its not 25 minute matches of Tank Abbot vs Scott Steiner, its non stop fukkery. Mad vignettes and shyt taped on location, mad storylines interwoven with the entire roster. It may have been garbage in 2000, but compared to 2016 Raw its a breath of fresh air.

Let us not forget that the most over shyt in 2016 is Matt Hardy and none of that has anything to do with 5 star classics and has everything to do with entertainment

He had bigger worries in 93/94:yeshrug:
When business is down it's hard to build back up.
The last few years i'll give you but Vince old now,he gotta be burnt out somewhat(even if he never admitted it)

So on your WRESTLING show, you'd really rather see a cringeworthy skit where an old woman gives birth to a hand, with no explanation, no satire, no point to the entire thing...rather than a 25 minute wrestling match between two solid wrestlers...on your wrestling show.

If that's the case then yeah, easy to see why you'd be a Russo fan. You'd also probably be better off watching some random terrible youtube "comedians", or maybe some old Troma films over WWE at this point. More likely to show you the sort of entertainment you're looking for.

smarks forget that wrasslin is entertainment first and foremost, if you want to watch real wrasslin then watch amateur wrestling

characters and stories draw, not fukking work rate :mjlol:
