We may witness a historically low Raw rating this Monday (1.75; Record low avg of 2.478m viewers)

Whats funny is I just watched and enjoyed Smackdown which only had 3 matches in 2 hours. And the most boring part was the 25 minute match between AJ and Ambrose.

Lucha Underground is the closest thing we have to the Attitude Era. When they give you a match, they give you a fukking match. Not some jabronie one on one for 25 minutes. If its a long ass match its gonna have some kinda crazy ass gimmick. Other than that usually matches are straight to the point and to drive a storyline.

And actually I have been watching Nitro 2000 recently, and those episodes are hilarious and I recommend them. Its not 25 minute matches of Tank Abbot vs Scott Steiner, its non stop fukkery. Mad vignettes and shyt taped on location, mad storylines interwoven with the entire roster. It may have been garbage in 2000, but compared to 2016 Raw its a breath of fresh air.

Let us not forget that the most over shyt in 2016 is Matt Hardy and none of that has anything to do with 5 star classics and has everything to do with entertainment

So your complaint isn't about actual wrestling. It's more about wanting wrestling that serves a purpose instead of matches just being used to fill time.

Matt Hardy did something that Russo could never do on his own which is tell a coherent story and show character development. Russo is infamous for having ridiculous storylines and angles but never knowing how to properly end them or advance them.

When Samoa Joe got kidnapped by ninjas (:mjlol: it still sounds absurd), Joe later complained that Russo didn't know what to do next with the storyline. He does that a lot.

smarks forget that wrasslin is entertainment first and foremost, if you want to watch real wrasslin then watch amateur wrestling

characters and stories draw, not fukking work rate :mjlol:
Characters who wrestle. And russo wouldnt honestly not have them wrestle if they dont.

  • He says wins and losses dont matter but books sweres and buildups based on a fans expectation of someone winning and losing
  • He says titles dont matter but he used title changes to boost ratings
  • He said wrestlers' looks are very important but gave a title to a fatman in a potato sack with a dress shirt and a mask on
  • He has been making money for 16 years off of work and reputation built over a 3 year period which began 20 years ago
  • He made brawl for all, booked drunk lod hawk, booked katie vick, three of the worst shyts in wwf history
  • He lies ALL THE TIME and got caught in a lie by meltz last yr
  • He was getting his ass kicked by wcw using wrestlers he squandered
I could continue, but its fukk russo period

Nobody is watching TNA or LU though which is why both companies could be ghost at anytime and WCW 2000 being good today because Raw is subpar is some super loopy logic there.

So on your WRESTLING show, you'd really rather see a cringeworthy skit where an old woman gives birth to a hand, with no explanation, no satire, no point to the entire thing...rather than a 25 minute wrestling match between two solid wrestlers...on your wrestling show.

If that's the case then yeah, easy to see why you'd be a Russo fan. You'd also probably be better off watching some random terrible youtube "comedians", or maybe some old Troma films over WWE at this point. More likely to show you the sort of entertainment you're looking for.

Though I agree with that, that specific match isn't a good example to go by, cause that match was very underwhelming with a very unnecessary aftermath

People are barely watching WWE too.:skip:
WWE's in a really bad trend and being compared to past success. They're still a top cable show on TV even though Raw is meh. LU and TNA could go out of business at anytime and I love Lucha.

This can pretty much be disregarded with the debate and mnf going on.:manny: Blaming the champs or product is pointless

TNA has been "almost" going out of business for the last 5 years now. :skip:

LU is a TV show but El Rey has been fully supporting them so they're not in any trouble right now.

TNA's trying to get someone to buy it out so it doesn't go out of business right now and LU is doing good for where it's at but El Rey hasn't announced a 4th Season nor are there concrete rumors on the next tapings either. It'll probably continue but my point is they're at the whim of the network and even though ratings are good for that channel they're not setting the world on fire.
