JayZ doesn't have songs that younger audiences connect with like that.

also the tidal thing meant that most of his fanbase is listening to Hov's music not on streaming.

Jay the only legacy artist with greatest hits albums? Why is this phenomenon not happening with the others??

It is happening. All these rappers from the 90s greatest hits albums out stream their regular albums if they have one. Look at the list. It's for the most streamed artists in Spotify history and Jay is at #74 overall while others are lower. That means very specific work of his is streamed but not what we would call his classics.

Like why the hell is Blueprint 3 handily out streaming Reasonable Doubt??

Looking at that list it's obvious. Ppl who are listening are going straight to his greatest hits album instead of to his albums. That gets over 1 million streams daily, 2nd only to Watch The Throne for him.

None of that dumb shyt y'all posted like his stuff not aging well or it doesn't connect is correct. Jay has a verse for literally any and every situation you can think of. I do think he should do something to reintroduce his back catalog to a newer audience. He has the hits and deep cuts to do it.

Nah. The site charts streaming totals by song. So if you look at the artists daily streams by album, the totals show up under both the original album and greatest hits

Pac Greatest Hits daily streams last week was 2,589,417, AEOM was 1,541,731

This is disingenuous:

JAY-Z - Spotify Top Albums

they have Reasonable Doubt on there 3x, the total is 240k

the Blueprint Collection is at 300k not including the og Blueprint numbers

The Blueprint 2 is broken into multiple albums, as is Hard Knock Life numbers

all of those are doing at least 200k + when you combine them

The problem here is that you might be slightly illiterate.

From the source where you got your data from RD for example is listed multiple times because it was re-issued a couple of times with songs added or a remix included etc.

So your numbers are wrong off rip.

RD should be 240K
BP is missing a whole 300K daily off the delux version :wtf:

his music been back on all platforms since like 2018/19, and these are weekly #’s. Not sure how the tidal move would be affecting today, especially with his peers getting more streams. That would mean people interested in artists from that era are on streaming

There's no nah about it. Jay's greatest hits is right below WTT for daily streams and then Blueprint 3 soon after. Those have the daily streams and more overall streams for him and those are the projects ppl ARE listening to not his older catalog as much.
