The man didn't play football in two years and it took time to get in the rhythm remember he didn't even play preseason that year
That's not really true. Foles started two games for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016, and he actually managed to do just fine coming in relief of Alex Smith. And he was a starter the year before that. It's not like he ever went away.

He didn't have the weapons in the beginning of the season everybody was hurt except Ertz
Jeffery was injured, sure, but he had Mike Wallace and Darren Sproles for the first game. He also had a more consistent running game than Wentz ever did with Jay Ajayi playing both Week 1 and 2, and Nelson Agholor, Dallas Goedert, and Zach Ertz were there the entire time. Foles also had preseason experience and training camp to get used to his roster and new coaches, which Wentz didn't.

I think it mostly just comes down to the coaching. Doug Pederson and Mike Groh have done a much better job with play-calling and scheming these last two weeks than they ever did in Weeks 1-14. They put Foles in a better position to succeed than they ever did Wentz.

That's not to say there aren't things Foles does do better than Wentz. He's better at taking what the defense gives him, getting rid of the ball faster, and not forcing things in search of a big play. He's more accurate on his deep shots. And he's injured less frequently. If you want to argue we should start him over Wentz because of all that, then fine. Even I was thinking that after the game yesterday.

But let's not act like he was secretly Tom Brady in disguise all this time. I still remember back in 2014, a year after Foles' 27-2 start with the Eagles in 2013, how he was mediocre enough that - after he got hurt - the team put in Mark Sanchez and still went 10-6. I remember just how bad the offense looked last year when Foles initially replaced Wentz and didn't get better under Pederson and Reich changed the play-book for him.

Honestly, the Foles/Fitzpatrick comparison is so dead on....shyt you can add Oswieler and Hoyer into that mix too.

There is usually a reason these guys make an NFL roster and there is also usually a reason they can’t stick as a great NFL QB.....but they can give you more than a lot of QBs who never give you shyt so....

Take what they give you when they give it to you and then move on.

We should’ve put Foles in 3 games earlier.

We’d be in the playoffs easy right now.

I don’t know what to say at this point. If Foles gets us deep into the playoffs and wins another championship then it’s crazy to put him back on the bench.

When healthy

Wentz is a league MVP type of talent

He's also 25 years old

So.. it's pretty open and shut. That's why no one is talking about this

Assuming we don't win this year

Then you're rebooting for the next run

And we should be able to make 2-3 solid runs and another ring within the next 10 years

Foles won't be around for that.. his window is the next 2 years

But our team is too old to expect the defense to be around the way it is now (and they're banged up now)

As much as Foles is a great story and we'd love to keep him it's not possible to pay them both so

That's it

this man talkin bout old shyt as of today he a superbowl mvp and champ...and just whooped on a team who won what 10 straight ? foles that nikka
Old shyt? Foles started this season and got benched because he was shytty. Foles was shytty in his previous game and just had a good game yesterday. Foles has a history or playing like a Pro Bowl QB for stretches and playing like a 3rd string QB for stretches. You nikkas memory is so short term that it's ridiculous.

With his back to the wall and no expectations, Foles can throw a hell of a haymaker. In a weekly starting role and the other team having enough video of him in that role and the offense built around him, he's mediocre at best. The numbers prove that.

Wentz is about to turn 26, Foles is about to turn 30

Foles is still in his prime. Age is irrelevant

Wentz is not a MVP level player. Fukk outta here .

What he is however is injury prone.

Y'all nikkas when you get in your feelings over a player and not think about the big picture of the team :childplease:

Checkdown Wentz will give you stats and a loss.

Foles will give you impact regardless of stats.

Y'all stat-fishing nikkas deserve Wentz tho. Y'all lucky Foles gave you a bowl because Wentz ain't taking you there, ever. Y'all will be making excuses for the next 5 years with Wentz.

Meanwhile the Browns will be feasting off the picks we got from y'all for the next 10 years lol

I don't really care

3 years is a lifetime in the NFL .. The avg. player careers only last this long

The organization is not going to give up on Carson because he got hurt

When healthy he's proven he's the franchise QB
And we've seen Nick Foles play for a full season with Chip Kelly and with the Rams

You people have selective memories to fit your argument

If you like Foles that's fine.

I don't care.. enjoy yourself

I don't have a stake in this. I'm just saying I don't believe in making f excuses for the player with the lesser impact in the field. It's so unbecoming in sports to do that .

Whatever... enjoy Carson. You'll be an average team for the duration of his career.
