They are realist unlike you. You're just a homer. I'm sure if I go through your old posts, I'll find some where you were celebrating the Mike Brown hirer, the Nash trade etc.

A month ago you said Embiid was the only good prospect in the draft. Now everyday you're here dikk riding Randle. Same with @Swagnificent Dude made several posts calling him a bust. Now that he is Laker he is going to be an all-star.
Randle part isn't true. I know for a fact me and a few others had our sights on him heavy. It's documented in this very thread. And...who didn't applaud the Nash trade? It seemed like a home-run at the time. A lot revisionist history going on.

Do ppl actually think we'll be contending for championships if we sign Melo?:heh: perennial 8th seed at best.

Knicks have already offered him the super max - he'll get it no matter what. If Melo is using LA - it's only leverage to 'bluff' Phill to send him to the Chi.
:ehh: On twitter, there was a mention that Melo wasn't happy when Phil told the press about Melo needing to take a paycut before the start of free agency, as Phil thought that he could have Melo cave into taking less. Not sure how credible it is. On paper Bulls have the best roster that Melo should go to that can contend and beat the Heat in the weak East, on the Lakers, there wouldn't be enough defense to go around at all and at best Lakers might be a 5/6 seed AT best.

The knicks already offered him a max deal. But if we were to sign melo, how much money would we have left to spend on FAgents after signing Pau?
:ehh: Not including the drafted rookies, and with just Kobe, Nash, Marshall, & Sacre on the roster, Lakers have 35 million in salary currently, with 28 million in cap space available. Lakers offered Melo the 4 year 97 mill max, his 1st year he would make I believe 21 mill, so than we would have 7 million left to spend, and use that to go over the cap to re-sign Pau and than sign a bunch of young and athletic players like last season to vet minimum deals and fill out the roster seems like the plan.

Bruhs we went back to back with a team that wasn't overly talented. But they were a complete team. I'm not saying we can build one with Melo, but a Core of Melo, Kobe and Randal sound like a nice starting block to me.

Little off topic but I expect Deandre Kane to become a rotation player
People in here acting like that team didn't make the Finals with Vlad Radmanovic and Derek Fisher starting or that the Lakers haven't made almost half the Finals since 2000. :pachaha:

One bad season and the sky is falling. I'd hate to see some of your outlooks if you were Minnesota or Milwaukee fans. :pachaha:

Before the draft.
Randle is simply not that good. He has the wingspan of a T-Rex, he's not a great post player, shooter, or athlete. He simply dominates in college by bullying smaller/weaker opponents. In the NBA he won't be able to do that.
Randle has alligator arms. dude has no wingspan and will get his shot packed in the league. plus the lack of fundamental and outside j don't help when he lacks elite explosiveness or wingspan.
god willing I hope Philly fall to 5 and pick Randle (who will inevitably bust).
RANDLE IS A BUST. I wouldn't draft dude in the top 15.
After the draft

Randle who'll be ROY, and you have a team that can contend.
:heh:

And no there were Laker fans who didn't like trading 4 draft picks for a 40 year old Steve Nash.

After the draft

after we picked him, I went back and watched some of his high school tape. he has great quickness for a player his size and his face up game was alot better than we saw in college. based on what i saw in college I'd still think he'd bust, but it seems like Calipari had him not showing all he could do at UK. with NBA spacing and an improved 18 foot jumper, he can be a problem on a team with other great players.

this wasn't me just flipping the script when the Lakers drafted him. I reevaluated the guy based on his high school highlights. If the Lakers try and play him the way calipari did at UK and try and make him a low post big, he'll BUST. But if they play him as a face up PF and pair him with a rim protector, he can be a problem.

I underestimated how much the lack of spacing hurt him in college given that his quickness of the dribble is his greatest athletic gift.
