This reminds me of a convo my wife and I had a while back. We bought a house in one of the top counties in the country when it comes to education. Our neighborhood elementary school is solid but there’s been an influx of people who speak English as a second language. This affects the teaching at earlier grade levels because those kids affect how the classes are taught due to them not speaking English that well. We decided to keep our daughter in private school until 1st grade and hope by that time the kids have caught up and don’t affect the rest of the class.

My children are home schooled.

Can’t be mad at the parents, neither. If someone were to force me to bring a child into my home that underperformed or risked my children’s quality of education, I would be opposed to it too. Fix the schools that the children are underperforming in first. Fix the broken homes, too.
