Also, this case would have been solved if they used all the cameras around town showing where the kids went. :skip:
their were zero ring cameras around alex house? this movie had so many flaws its not even funny

none of alex neighbors looked at their own cameras and see 17 kids run into their neighbors yard?

I mean, if 17 kids, which were mostly white, went missing because they ran somewhere, you know damn well they’re checking every cam in town. :skip:

Again, I liked the movie, but that doesn’t mean I can’t call out shyt either.

Pretty weak to me. It had some good qualities. I liked the lighting. I liked the DOP's work. Solid direction. Script was weak. Longlegs had the heart to take itself very seriously, this constantly went for cheap laughs and creepy imagery over anything else.

It had no tension. The pacing was bad. It never felt as real or connected as it needed to be. To me, a lot of movies today suffer from this. They don't create a realistic or grounded world, when all the best horror movies depend on that. I didn't think his debut was very good either.

oh and that last chase scene was 100% influenced by Kathryn Bigelow in Point Break, the chase between Swayze and Reeves, one of the best chase scenes of all time.

It's been like 30 years, but it's absolutely paying homage to that scene.

I saw this the other week in IMAX. I thought it was pretty good. I like that the trailers don't really reveal what was going on.

It was a dope horror movie. Even without the humor it still would have been a great flick.

Not to mention the FBI would have completely taken over that town until the kids were found. There's no way they'd leave it to the local law enforcement to help solve a missing persons case of that magnitude.

It would take forever to check that. It was only a few months into the disappearances. My post falls apart though with how quick the dad put a few pieces together and they’re be staking out that boys house 24/7

i know its a common horror movie trope, but the weaponized incompetence in this movie was crazy. the police were absolutely useless and thanos being able to do most of the leg work with the silver surfer keying him in to the last piece of the puzzle when its assumed that the police have all the info they didnt and couldnt figure it out is wild

a few curiosities though
was gladys actively attacking thanos and the surfer in their dreams? because i dont understand if she was doing that subconsciously or intentionally, and why she would see herself as a clown

was gladys actually alex great aunt who was parasitic towards his grandmother killing her? or was she an external parasite that somehow magically convinced her that she was her aunt?

why was gladys in the forest fukking with that james dude? it kind of goes with a previous question but if youre trying to get away with this, why inform potenial victims and weapons of your existense?

also with the theme of children missing and all the running, i was kinda expecting a grapist cameo. especially with the shyt at the end

The best thing about this might have been the trailer and the rollout, lol. I was all ready for some unsettling and haunting shyt, and it didn't quite hit the mark for me in that regard. It low-key reminded me of the Salem's Lot shyt that dropped on HBO Max not too long ago :scust: .

I wanted them to lean way more into the dread than they did instead of this pulpy throwback feel. It wasn't a bad movie by any means but I can't believe it's being touted as movie of the year or better than Sinners or Hereditary which weren't perfect movies by any means but compared to this...
