How many people still do Sunday dinners and Sunday drives? Sometimes the simplest things can be the most rewarding. Gas used to be so cheap so it was never an issue but I can see how it could be for a lot of people now. Cost of living has gone up so much that people can't relax and enjoy life like they used to.

At what age did you start doing this
People really need to start managing their time better. Every situation is a little different so it really boils down to what is going on with your life. Do a little bit of "house work" shortly after your work days so that your weekend is as free as possible. People tend to have a 60-70 hour stretch off from work and should make that time available as much as they can.
When I used to work 3rd shift many years ago I got myself a crock-pot and it's incredible how much time I felt I gained just by that small purchase.
I don't have kids so my situation is a bit different than most people in their 30's.

4x10 can be cool, my thing with that tho was that I would find myself taking "a minute" to gather myself after work, theb I look up and its almost midnight, and if I didn't sleep well the night before the first work day than the whole week went down hill
