It's hard to judge coaches when the FO and roster doesn't do them any favors. Wizards should be rebuilding instead of trying to compete for the 11th seed every season. If Wes Unseld Jr fails with them, then you can judge him.

Not saying OP is guilty of this but the eagerness some have to dump on Black HCs across sports is so gotdamn see thru. It takes hitting absolute rock bottom for White HCs to get shyt on the way some fans and the media go when a Black HC has a first sign of downward slide
He has a good offensive system but he is oblivious to rotations and matchups.

Yes and no. One would argue they should’ve never been up by 20 in the first place. Also, in today’s NBA, a 20 point lead is nothing. The Warriors blow them every week, but that’s also because they have a mediocre coach and Draymond Green.
I do think as a coach it’s your job to protect leads like that, but it’s difficult because when you see it slipping you most likely would just sub in different guys to change the rhythm or pace on any other level of basketball.
The NBA is more star driven and minutes are promised to guys. So if Bradley Beal has missed 6 shots in a row which has lead to a 12-0 run by the other team, you still can’t really take him out without pissing him off and putting your job further on the line. Especially during the regular season.
