I'm always hearing that, but I don't really buy it. Yes, Shawty Redd was using those fast hi-hats, but they didn't switch up like Lex's. Yeah, I guess he does sound similar to Lex a bit, but Lex changed the game a lot more than Shawty Redd. shyt, Lex's sound has gone mainstream/pop.

Also, Shawty Redd was definitely influenced by three 6. If you speed up the hi-hats in a song like this:
