What age did you learn how to cook?

Me too except it was my aunt. I started cutting veggies and chicken.then I was making rice for the gumbo. Then when she saw I was kinda nice with it she let me do my own thing. That was important bc she did thanksgiving alone. Having my raggedy pot roast up there made a lil youngin like me proud. She's the reason I went to culinary school

Mine is always trying to find out what I put in it. I always tell her I can't be giving away my recipes.When I moved out on my own around 24...
Now when I cook my mom's beg me to save her a plate or something...

i still cant cook at 27 
10-ish but i could make eggs ever since i was probably 7
Between the age of 11 and 16 i lived alone with my father. No woman in the household at the time. We would cook sometimes. Our maid only came only 3 days a week and mostly handled cleaning and laundry. Every now and then she or my aunt would season meats my father bought and we would cook it ourselves. We'd cook fish and plantains or white yam and shyt like that.
Then in my 20s when i lived completely alone i began cooking caribbean style rice-and-peas, mastered haitian black rice, fried plantains, haitian cod chiktay, and caribbean sal-fish and banana plantains and dumplings.
These days i dont cook fish as much as i used to but all my friends rave about my jerk-chicken, tho.
