Haven't watched this series since Overhaul. Sounds like it's still as uneven as ever. shyt's like a crackhead uncle looks like it's about to get back on track and next thing you know it's all messed up again.

Tbh with the amount of hype CSM got it really hasn't lived up to it. Don't get me wrong its entertaining as hell with Power and Denji. If I'm taking the show seriously, Aki and Makima are the only ones that interests me. Just feels like by the time the plot kicks in, this season will be over. Just feels like manga readers who love where the series is at currently in the manga, even tho the anime may not reach that point were it comes to satisfying that level of hype.

As much as I hated MHA last season, they got it rolling right now. As far action and plot goes it has been much better imo. I just hope this arc doesn't get resolved too fast. I know MHA praise is rare around, but gotta say MHA has been much better then CSM in terms of just the anime so far this season only.

It's only 6 episodes in fam...let it cook. It's impossible to judge an anime by less than half its first season.

Aye, this Bocchi show is fukking hilarious :mjlol:

Last chapter with the generic sappy backstory for Chigiri was :russell: I watch this show for unaldultered fukkery, not anime 101 :francis:

Bocchi's my surprise of the season. That ish cracks me up like Ya Boy Kongming did last season.

I didn't mind the Chigiri come up, but it was definitely a step behind all the other crazy-ish. Isagi throwing him to the ground like "get outta my way" was kinda fire

No I get that completely. It's just that the anime getting the hype it is getting with none of it from anime watchers.

Like I said before I'm glad CSM readers are getting a good adaptation, but at the same time it is more of a thing where the amount of hype could end up make S1 feel like a disappointment even when it shouldn't feel like that.

The biggest thing is with just 13 episodes will the anime be able to adapt to the point where anime fans will get invested in the plot?

That's a bit off fam. The anime watchers are definitely giving it a big push too. Anime twitter had a full-scale war going last week because the anime watchers hate Kobeni (rightfully after the episode they just saw) and the manga readers were doing the "You don't understand" thing to 'em. It's not getting love just off the readers. Denji is giving people a meme per episode, and the animation is thorough as hell. I've seen hella people sharing clips of the most basic ish (Makima tying the tie or Aki's morning routine).

In terms of where this season will leave off. It looks like it's poised to end with the first arc that really hooked people into the broader world from the manga. I'm not sure if that's how it'll go or if they'll nail the execution, but I feel like it's got a good shot. My guess is that last arc of the season will leave a lot of anime-only heads at least interested to see what's next. And Season 2 will be the one that really takes it to where the manga-hype got to.

there are some moments in CSM that readers are looking forward to, myself included, that anime watchers will wonder why there was any anticipation for whatsoever. There's one particular scene coming up that I'm just waiting to see how people react to, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the story :mjlol:

I think its best to just separate CSM from other shounen in terms of expectations. It's never gonna hook people narratively quite like Demon Slayer, FMA, JJK etc all do as its a different shounen experience. But, there will be a lot of highlights that'll be talked about for a long time.

At the pace they are going, yes. The arc that should end this cour should hook most people that are still on the fence.

Do we know for sure if it's just 1 cour or will they do 2?

Yup. CSM's narrative ain't that compelling, it's all about the little/subtle things/themes, the fukkery and the gore/action.

Only thing we know that it is 13 episodes. There could be a surprised split cour announcement that other animes have done.

dang Recoil show outdid Demon Slayer? I personally enjoyed it a lot, but that's surprising DS had a pretty concise, action packed season.

I guess the power of a double waifu led slice of life/action anime is unstoppable.

Also I haven't read more than a chapter or two of it, but I'm hearing Hell's Paradise is gonna be a banger.

I took a look at the article that it mentioned. It was Blu-Ray sales only. Seems more of a metric for more hardcore anime fans. But still impressive feat to beat giants like Demon Slayer and SxF which are the kings for casual anime fans currently.
