At all. Can't wait till that b**** diesMan Rachel really ain’t shyt
Other things I would addhavent watched anime in what feels like forever. Nothing has really caught or held my attention as of late.
Got 5 shows on deck for the new season.
Re:Zero: Needs no introduction
Dandadan: I havent looked, but I FULLY expect @tripleaamin to have brought the upcoming show to y'alls attention. That and Sakamoto Days. I'll admit I've damn near lost hope in adaptations, but I'm still here for it.
SAOAlternative: Gun Gale: Pink Devil Bunny returns!Man, I enjoyed the shyt out of the first season. The few responses to the eps in this thread were hype as hell. Gun busting, Head bussin, wig splitting, well thought out tactical battles. First season has one of my favorite moments in anime history.
Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku: It's a show about Mahjongg. Im a sucker for those (Akagi, Saki). Sorta in the same vein as Akagi. The politics of the criminal underworld is heavily swayed by mahjongg games. Protagonist is a genius mahjongg player by night, and a student by day. It doesn't seem ANYWHERE NEAR as dark, cerebral and oppressive as Akagi, and it doesnt have the deadly serious whimsy as Saki. But I'm here to pay homage. Hopefully it'll be good.
Ranma 1/2: It's Ranma 1/2. I have no idea wether it's gonna be a hit or flop, but I'm here for it.
I'm not entirely caught up, but it's shaping up to be a top-five of the year for me and could climb if it sticks the landing. Definitely a gem! I'd have slept on it if not for you suggesting it.@42 Monks @LordDeathwatch @storyteller @Jmare007
Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master ended. Tbh I am still stunned by how good this anime was. Especially the 2nd half of the season. Great visuals, outstanding direction, great writing, complex characters, amazing twists, etc.
I am honestly not sure between Frieren, this or Monogatari what would be my AOTY. Special company being with those two.
Big shout out to Koume. She was a much more complex character than I would have thought coming into the latter half of the show. That took some courage to go after her mother. Luckily, Wakamiya arrived when they did or things could have been worse. Her mother was truly awful. Manipulating her husband and putting so much people in danger due to her greed was beyond disgraceful. She's willing to kill her own family is even more sickening. You have to feel bad for Koume. Father is dead, and her mother was an awful person.

Wakamiya found himself in a familiar position that he was in earlier in the season when they faced off against the monkey. He chose not to kill the Yatagarasu, but Koume's mom took stabbed him. Luckily, it was a non-vital error, But the shock of it happening was just giant. Wakamiya has put himself in danger time and time again and tbh he had this feel of something who would always be fine. So to see him down was jaw dropping. I assume that Hamayuu casting blame onto Sumio mostly because he arrived late. She trusts Yukiya did everything to the best of his abilities. Of course, he didn't know that the true Kin'u couldn't harm another Yatagarasu, so it is difficult to blame Yukiya.

Man Koume's mom becomes increasingly sickening the more she is on-screen. She mentions how the monkeys stayed true to their word of helping her. Think about how many lives died because of her and the fact she has no ill thought of her actions makes her a fukking disgrace. The directing is sublime as usual. As Hamayuu discusses Wakamiya's duties as the true Kin'u we see a shot of a big and small frog. The big one symbolizing Wakamiya and the small frog symbolizing the Yatagarasu in general.

This show doesn't even stop being jaw dropping. As Wakamiya wakes up with Yukiya they travel to the border of Yamauchi we see the Ghost Fire. An amazing shot as the Ghost Fires from the Yamauchi view point appear as lights in modern cities was outstanding. It approaches even more so since Wakamiya was out sleep from his injury. Makes me wonder for Wakamiya when he says he would do whatever it takes to save even one Yatagarasu. Makes me look back at his injury at the moment when the raven was out of control. Yukiya & Koume were in danger, so the thought of letting Koume's mom free for a moment so that he can keep Yukiya & Koume safe. Perhaps also hoping Koume's mom would make a decision for the good of the Yatagarasu, but of course, we know what happened.

Alas, we end the show where Yukiya never chose his master. But we end him choosing to serve Wakamiya is a very nice touch. Yukiya found his path and his journey has been a blast. This show gets compared to Apothecary Diaries while him and Maomao differ in many ways. They both offer a big spark to each of their stories. This has been a phenomenal show and I pray that NHK, who is on the production committee (according to MAL) continue this series at the same quality as we got it.
