This anime went from the PHANTOM TROUPE catching bodies, chrollo's philosophy, killua's assassin family getting involved, hisoka undercover, hostage trade situations, an underground auction and gon trying to finesse billions, fortune telling, the mafia, etc.
to gon & killua hanging out in the woods with bisky and people trading cards
Gon's dad straight up said he's not there too
I'm damn near about to bush this anime for Nana which this thread put me on to

Yeah, I liked Greed Island. The way Togashi basically changed the genre of his own anime was
it definitely has lower stakes as the Yorknew City and of course the Chimera Ant arcs, but for such a change in direction, I was really entertained by it.I binged watch the show though, I'm sure watching it week to week the Greed Island arc must've felt like

Greed Island was a fun arc. Like someone else said I just watched the whole thing not week to week (also read it). I'm not familiar with card battle games but it looked like a lot of fun. Except when you play the Phantom Troupe

It would be taxing, Greed Island showcased the dynamics of Gon and Killuas relationship and effectively foreshadows what happens between them in the next arc. The deconstruction of Gons character really begins in this arc while simultaneously building Killuas character. GI also gives more info about nen (excorcism), What happened with Chrollo, and Gings dad. Like I said Gons final fight in GI foreshadows what happens in CAA.

I was dying at the flashback part and looking when the actual episode started. That's just One Piece style. I tried watching One Piece dubbed when Cartoon Network premiered it years ago because everyone was hyping it up. Man that shyt was so trash, I was disgusted with myself. Zolo
It took me years to try watching again subbed and was immediately hooked.
