yeah breh that single arc dragged me kicking and screaming back to anime. I had honestly given up on it. Missed out on a loooooot of good shows in that time period, including shows on my GOAT list.

But to be fair, back in those days, the only way to really get anime that I knew of were Adult Swim and Suncoast Video store.
Yeah I used to watch anime as a kid, but just stopped, now I’m back on it.

What made you stop watching in the first place breh?

boredom and circumstance. I'm a huge lifelong nerd, right. Comic books, video games, Wrestling, Doctor Who. (and music, but that don't fall into that spectrum)

but the best analogy outta those I can give you is music. You love particular genres long enough, what you love about it goes outta style. Then if you don't know how or got a way to get more of what you love (only listening to the radio and what's "popular"), you fall out of love with it. Start complaining about "back in MY day, it was like THIS and it wasn't like the trash these youngsters blah blah"

Plus I was coming home at like 4 in the morning sometimes, and I'd only catch the ending themes of a lot of stuff (InuYasha). In the daytime, seemed like all they'd be playing was like.... Kikaider or Cyborg009. I think I only watched The Big O.

My homebody was watching Bleach and Fate/Stay, but I was ignoring anime by that point.

Then one day I got bored and watched the first ep of Bleach. First time I saw

shyt was so..... different from everything I had ever seen or heard. Then more great shows started dropping, and... well, here I am.

and that first Bleach OP.... i definitely feel like animation studios went back to the drawing board and rethought how they did things because of it. Everything from the music to the colors to the art and even the way they were dressed.

shyt felt so revolutionarily modern in anime where everything was fantasy, feudal japan, outer space, karate gi or school uniforms.

Looked at the list of shows I've actually watched this year and it's 20. DNF any of them. The closest is My Dress-Up Darling made it to the last episode which I still haven't watch but am ahead of that in the manga now so the anime is dropped more than likely.
Bold = pretty much dropped the anime and started reading the source material instead
Attack on Titan 8 episodes
Demon Slayer 13 episodes
The Strongest Sage With The Weakest Crest 5 episodes
My Dress Up Darling 11 episodes
Love of Kill 4 episodes
Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie 2 episodes
Spy x Family 3 episodes
A Couple of Cuckoos 10 episodes
The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody 7 episodes
Rent-A-Girlfriend 3 episodes
Harem Labyrinth in Another World 5 episodes
Stepmother's Daughter is My Ex 3 episodes
The Devil is a Part Timer 5 episodes
Lycoris Recoil 6 episodes
The Daily Life of the Immortal King 8 episodes
Engage Kiss 7 episodes
The Genius Prince Guide to Raising a Nation out of Debt 5 episodes
Ascendence of a Bookworm 2 episodes
Kaguya-sama 4 episodes
Vermeil in Gold 5 episodes
Read 70 light novel volumes in comparison.

Of all the peak fukkery it, this is a contender for all-time status. Breh dropping a classic because of the Narrator. :deadrose:
I wasn't fukkin' with the 2011 version to begin with, only watched it to see how the Yorknew ark would play out compared to the 1998 anime.

Those songs have no business being this good. Get you in yo mothafukkin feels for real.

:wow: :wow:

Breh, you remember that happy ending song when Inuyasha was runnin in the field? I think it was the 5th one.

I randomly remembered that song so many years after I stopped watching that show. I had to come back to anime and finish it though.

:wow::wow:
